POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Accounting and Office Administration is an integral member of the Southeastern Medical Equipment management team and is accountable for all accounting operations as well as financial and management reporting, internal control, various taxes, and integrity of all financial statements and regulatory compliance functions. This position also entails oversight of HR functions and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management

  • Partner with management team to help drive the business forward
  • Adhere to system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure requests
  • Interact with CEO and General Manager on a regular basis
  • Work closely with outsourced CFO
  • Oversee employee onboarding, PTO, Payroll, and benefits management
  • Work with GM to document and improve various processes

Transactions

  • Lead month-end and year-end closing process in conjunction with CFO
  • Ability to lead Automation of manual processes
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Implement and monitor system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of significant general ledger accounts
  • Perform accrual calculations
  • Oversee accounts receivable collection efforts; ensure AR are collected promptly and that credit risk is managed appropriately
  • Work with CEO to ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Implement and Maintain Rolling 8 Week Cash Flow Forecast
  • Daily Cash Balance Reconciliation
  • Daily Reconciliation of Cash Receipts to Accounts Receivable
  • Calculate and Report on Monthly Statement of Cash Flows
  • Spend approximately 60% of time in controller function and 20% of time in financial analysis/leadership, and 20% in HR and process improvement.
  • In depth experience and knowledge involving inventory of rental asset accounting and depreciation

Reporting

  • Issue timely, complete, and accurate financial statements monthly
  • Calculate and report financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and periodic forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide financial analyses, as needed
  • Provide written monthly commentary on financial results

Compliance

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external and internal auditors
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Other

  • Oversee annual business registrations, insurance renewals, and other tax related annual needs
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

DECISION MAKING:

Position will be required to make informed, timely decisions or suggestions that will directly impact on the financial results of the company.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Position requires collaboration with department managers and current/potential customers.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. Accounting degree and public accounting experience

2. Five+ years of full cycle accounting experience,

3. Experience and understanding of receipt, depreciation, and sale of fixed assets

4. Controller or equivalent experience highly desirable

5. Strong technical accounting skills in US GAAP

7. Skilled in forecasting and budgeting

8. Advanced aptitude in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
