Job Description


We are seeking a highly driven Director of Amazon Marketplace to own and lead our third-party (3P) Amazon business. This role will be responsible for full P&L ownership, strategic planning, and execution of all aspects of our Amazon channel. You will lead the end-to-end management of our account, including assortment strategy, marketing, operations, and performance analytics, ensuring sustained growth and profitability.

This is a high-impact role with direct influence on our top-line revenue and brand presence on the world’s largest online marketplace. You’ll have the opportunity to launch new brands and grow current brands with high visibility to Executive Management. This full-time position reports to the Head of Indirect Sales and is expected to work in a hybrid model, which currently includes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-office.

What you’ll do:

Strategic Leadership & P&L Management

  • Own and manage the full Amazon P&L; set and achieve revenue, margin, and profitability goals
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for the Amazon marketplace business
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and competitive dynamics to guide pricing, promotions, and product strategy

Marketplace Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the Amazon Seller Central account including listings, inventory, content, reviews, and customer experience
  • Optimize product detail pages (SEO, A+ Content, titles, images, bullets, etc.) to drive visibility and conversions
  • Manage product launches, category expansion, and seasonal planning with a holiday-focused lens

Advertising & Performance Marketing

  • Oversee Amazon advertising (PPC, DSP, etc.) strategy and budget to maximize ROI
  • Use data-driven insights to adjust campaigns and improve ACoS, TACoS, and sales performance

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting, FBA planning, and inventory availability
  • Oversee Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) eligibility and performance, ensuring compliance with Amazon’s requirements
  • Develop and manage an inventory allocation strategy between SFP and FBA, optimizing for profitability, customer experience, and delivery performance
  • Minimize out-of-stocks and long-term storage fees while ensuring timely delivery of holiday-sensitive SKUs

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide supervision to a small team, defining tasks aligned with common goals, and fosters the professional development of team members through active discussion, feedback, coaching, and mentorship
  • Lead a high-performing team of an Amazon Account Manager and a Sales Support Specialist; manage external agency partners
  • Leads team with accountability for business outcomes, promoting solution-sharing and inspiring the broader team/function with a vision aligned with organizational values
  • Work cross-functionally with product development, creative, operations, and finance to align objectives and execution plans

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze business performance, key KPIs, customer trends, and channel profitability
  • Provide regular reporting to executive leadership with actionable insights and recommendations

What you bring to the table:

  • 14+ years of experience managing Amazon marketplace (Seller Central) for a consumer goods brand; experience with seasonal or holiday products is a plus
  • Proven success in managing multi-million-dollar P&L with strong financial acumen
  • Deep understanding of Amazon algorithms, policies, tools (e.g., Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Amazon Ads)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a product line and scale a channel profitably
  • Strong analytical skills and data fluency; ability to translate insights into actions
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with the ecommerce sales funnel and tactics to drive sales conversion
  • Proficient with Amazon Seller Central
  • History of autonomous work without direct regular oversite
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated AI literacy, enabling effective understanding, interaction, and critical evaluation of AI technologies and applications across diverse business functions

The base pay range for this position is: $170,000 to $213,000. Please note that placement within the posted salary range is based on several factors, including geographic location, experience, skills, alignment with role requirements and other job-related factors. It is uncommon for offers to be made at the top of the range, as this typically reflects a candidate who exceeds all role requirements and brings significant, directly applicable experience. We benchmark our pay ranges against current external data sources and regularly review compensation for our team members.
