The Job
The Director of Business Development and Marketing will lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategies to expand our client base, enhance brand awareness, and drive revenue growth across multiple states. This role requires a leader with industry connections, marketing expertise, and the ability to coordinate cross-regional initiatives.
Qualifications for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a business development and marketing, preferably within accounting, finance, or professional services industries.
- Proven track record of successfully growing client portfolios and revenue streams.
- Strong understanding of regional market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership capabilities with experience managing teams and cross-functional projects.
- Proficiency in CRM, marketing automation tools, and digital analytics platforms.
What do we need you to do?
Business Development
- Develop and implement multi-state business development strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within target markets and industries.
- Design and oversee marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, content creation, branding, and events.
- Collaborate with regional teams to customize marketing and outreach efforts for local markets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of business development and marketing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in marketing and client engagement activities.
Internal & External Communication
- Develop and manage the client communication calendar to ensure clear, timely, and aligned messaging.
- Write, design, and execute mass email campaigns for clients and staff.
- Implement preemptive communication strategies to ensure staff are informed before client-facing updates.
- Ensure accuracy and clarity of content in client communications, incorporating leadership direction and relevant updates (e.g., tax law changes) as needed.
Content Creation & Design
- Oversee the creation of client-facing materials (e.g., welcome guides, advertisements, email templates).
- Develop and refine email templates, presentation materials, and standardized documents to align with branding guidelines.
- Streamline and guide the design of internal and client-facing questionnaires and branded forms.
- Oversee print ordering for all offices, including business cards, tax folders, postcards, and signage.
Event Marketing & Coordination
- Collaborate with leadership and planners to develop event marketing strategies and timelines.
- Create and manage event-specific marketing materials.
- Manage pre- and post-event communication campaigns.
- Ensure event signage and branded materials are aligned with company standards and delivered on time.
Brand Oversight & Content Management
- Ensure brand consistency across all client touchpoints and internal materials.
- Refine and maintain branded templates and presentation assets.
- Guide the development of a formal Brand Guide, including refined mission and vision statements.
- Oversee advertising and marketing agency collaboration to ensure alignment with brand identity.
- Coordinate office signage updates and printed materials for consistency.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate with partner, location leaders, internal teams and external agencies to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
Campaign Support & Oversight
- Collaborate with external parties to ensure campaigns align with company goals.
- Collaborate with advertising and marketing agencies to monitor and report on campaign performance metrics, offering insights for improvement.
- Support local advertising initiatives, including ongoing monthly articles and expert-driven content.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Marketing
- Develop and manage brand transition strategies for new acquisitions.
- Write and distribute press releases for major announcements.
- Oversee internal communications regarding M&A activities.
- Prepare for future M&A workload increases with scalable processes and templates.
Compensation & Benefit Package
- $110,000 annual base salary plus bonus opportunities
- Incentive compensation tied to clearly defined KPIs and performance goals (e.g., growth metrics)
