A leading applied technology organization focused on advanced manufacturing and innovation is seeking a Director of Business Development & Marketing to lead strategy, execution, and performance across business development, marketing, and communications functions.
This role partners with executive leadership to drive growth through strategic partnerships, customer engagement, marketing initiatives, and revenue-generating activities. The position is responsible for leading a high-performing team, developing market strategies, and expanding relationships across industry, government, and commercial sectors.
Develop and execute integrated business development and marketing strategies
Establish KPIs, forecasts, and performance metrics aligned with organizational goals
Lead, coach, and develop business development and marketing teams
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture
Support hiring, onboarding, and development of team members
Influence cross-functional teams and align initiatives across departments
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and funding sources
Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients and strategic partners
Develop long-term relationships across industry, government, and partner organizations
Utilize CRM systems to track pipeline activity, forecasting, and customer engagement
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Develop strategies to expand partnerships and revenue streams
Lead development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns
Oversee digital marketing strategies (SEO, email marketing, digital advertising)
Manage content development including case studies, campaigns, and technical messaging
Monitor and optimize performance across communication channels
Provide strategic direction for brand positioning, messaging, and outreach
Oversee social media strategy and audience engagement
Establish crisis communication workflows and messaging strategies
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Technology, or related field
7–12 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing
Proven success in driving revenue growth, partnerships, and customer engagement
Experience working in a technical, manufacturing, or technology-driven environment
Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams
Strong executive presence and communication skills
Experience working cross-functionally and influencing senior leadership
Ability to translate business objectives into actionable strategies
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar)
Willingness to travel as needed
U.S. citizenship required to meet regulatory compliance requirements
Experience in digital marketing tools and platforms (SEO, automation, analytics)
Familiarity with web design or marketing technologies
Experience working with government, defense, or regulated industries
Established relationships within manufacturing or industrial sectors
This is a full-time role in a professional office environment with regular collaboration across teams and external stakeholders. Travel is required for meetings, events, and partnership development.
