The Guild for Human Services seeks a strategic Director of Communications and Development to lead and significantly expand our fundraising capacity. This is your opportunity to take proven infrastructure and drive transformational growth in support of our mission serving individuals with disabilities and their families.

What You'll Lead

Fundraising Excellence & Growth

  • Direct comprehensive fundraising campaigns from strategy through execution, building on our established foundation
  • Scale our donor development pipeline through cultivation of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters
  • Expand grant portfolios and lead high-impact fundraising events
  • Optimize existing donor systems to increase efficiency and deepen engagement

Strategic Communications

  • Develop integrated communications strategies that elevate visibility and support fundraising objectives
  • Oversee compelling content creation across all platforms to authentically tell our story
  • Manage media relations and brand positioning to establish the Guild as a recognized leader

Who You Are

A Proven Fundraising Leader with 5+ years directing successful development operations. You have a track record of growing fundraising revenue, scaling development operations, and building authentic stakeholder relationships across diverse communities.

Strategic Yet Hands-On - You combine big-picture vision with execution excellence. You thrive on assessing existing infrastructure, implementing data-driven strategies, and collaborating with senior leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications and fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing communication plans and fundraising campaigns.
  • Proficiency with donor databases (DonorPerfect, Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, Little Green Light)
  • Exceptional writing, relationship-building and strategic planning skills.
  • Local philanthropic landscape knowledge preferred
