JOB DESCRIPTION:
Berry College invites applications for the Director of Community Engagement (Director) position. The Director will provide strategic leadership and management of the Bonner Scholar Program, a cohort-based scholarship program that includes student placements with community partners, management of co-curricular programming, and annual service trips. The Director will develop and implement a mission-aligned developmental framework for the Bonner Scholar Program, leveraging cross-departmental partnerships and systemic peer mentoring to promote leadership and character development, academic flourishing, and student formation.
The Director will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining partnerships with local organizations to create meaningful student engagement opportunities and Signature Learning Experiences while promoting Berry's Good Neighbor Culture both on campus and in the surrounding community. Additionally, the Director will be a key leader in integrating community engagement activities organized by scholarship programs, service requirements for groups, Berry Impact, Academic Community Engagement, and student service and community-based projects.
The Director will serve as the institutional manager for the GivePulse platform, a software platform for social impact and civic engagement, including implementation, training, and campus-wide utilization. The Director will support programming that connects the Good Neighbor Culture and community engagement, including events such as Solidarity Week, Be Love Week, and other student initiatives.
The Director will be expected to serve on various institutional committees, provide support during campus-wide events, and actively engage in professional development, staying current with best practices in community engagement and higher education.
REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred education and experience include a bachelor's degree, a master's degree is preferred, and 2-4 years of experience in student development, community programming, or related work. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and mission-driven leader who:
