Director of Community Integration

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Community Integration provides executive-level leadership for programs that advance independent living, community inclusion, and quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role carries strategic and operational responsibility for supportive housing development, assistive technology and remote support services, In-Home Supports (IHS), cluster housing programs, and Command Center operations.

The Director ensures that all services are delivered in a person-centered, compliant, and outcomes-focused manner, while representing the organization at community, stakeholder, and advisory forums to build meaningful partnerships and advocate for individuals served.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Leadership & Oversight
Provide strategic direction and operational oversight across all community integration programs,ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Direct operations for community living services, including supportive housing, community inclusion activities, IHS, cluster housing, and Command Center services.
Conduct routine site checks at all service locations; identify and resolve safety, maintenance,and operational concerns in a timely manner.
Monitor program outcomes and prepare reports with actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
Supportive Housing Development
Plan, implement, and manage supportive housing initiatives that enhance independence and community integration for individuals served.
Ensure all housing properties are safe, well maintained, and compliant with applicable health and safety standards.
Integrate assistive technology and remote support solutions into housing environments where appropriate.

Assistive Technology & Remote Supports

Supervise the implementation and ongoing management of assistive technology solutions across all cluster housing sites and for individuals receiving IHS and

Command Center services.

Evaluate and integrate innovative technology tools to enhance individual independence and program efficiency.
Ensure staff are trained and proficient in all technology systems utilized in service delivery.
Person-Centered Planning & Advocacy
Ensure all services promote independence, dignity, and personal choice in alignment with each individual's goals and Individual Plan (IP).
Support the development and maintenance of social support networks and community relationships for individuals served.
Plan and facilitate opportunities for meaningful community inclusion and participation.
Encourage and model independence, competencybuilding, and informed decisionmaking.
Staff Leadership & Development
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program managers and direct support staff across all program areas.
Foster a highperforming, collaborative team culture grounded in respect, accountability, and personcentered values.
Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to supervisory and frontline staff.

Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance

Ensure all programs operate in full compliance with agency, DDS, state, and local policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments and manage incident reporting processes in accordance with regulatory standards.
Ensure timely completion of Quality Service Review (QSR) documentation and prompt response to QSR findings.
Ensure the safety of staff, individuals, and the broader community across all service environments.
Fiscal Management
Prepare and manage program budgets in alignment with organizational and funding source requirements.
Maintain and reconcile individual and agency funds in accordance with the agency's financial policies and DDS standards.
Identify and pursue grant opportunities to support program growth and sustainability.

Stakeholder Engagement & Community Partnerships

Represent the organization at community events, advisory meetings, and stakeholder forums.
Build and sustain relationships with community partners, advocacy organizations, and service providers.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and best interests of individuals served.
Ensure individuals have access to a broad range of community resources and services.
Data, Documentation & Reporting
Ensure individual records, including IPs, Level of Need (LON) assessments, and service documentation, are accurate, complete, and current.
Review and maintain data integrity across all programs and service areas.
Prepare program outcome reports for leadership and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required;Master's Degree preferred.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a Case Manager role within a DDSfunded agency or program.
A minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities is required.
Knowledge & Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of DDS regulations and state and federal standards governing community living and support services.
Strong knowledge of assistive technology and remote support systems used in communitybased settings.
Familiarity with Individual Plans (IPs), Level of Need (LON) assessments, and Quality Service Reviews (QSRs).
Knowledge of community and agency resources, regional and state programs, and social casework techniques.
Understanding of human development, behavior, and family and group dynamics.

Strong organizational and time management skills; capable of managing a caseload of 45+individuals while balancing executive responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates across multiple service environments, including office settings, community locations, and residential housing sites. The Director must be able to:

Travel regularly between program sites for routine inspections and oversight activities.
Attend evening or weekend events and meetings as required by program or stakeholder needs.
Work in dynamic, fastpaced environments and respond effectively to shifting priorities.
Occasionally assist with physical tasks during site visits as operationally necessary.
