Position Overview

ASAP Results is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Director of Compliance & Training to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of compliance programs and training initiatives across all operational areas. This role is critical to ensuring that all specimen collection processes, patient workflows, and billing practices meet regulatory standards while maintaining operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in clinical specimen collection, patient follow-up protocols, and medical billing, along with a proven ability to develop SOPs and train multidisciplinary teams effectively.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Oversight

  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs aligned with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Ensure all specimen collection, handling, labeling, and transport procedures meet regulatory and company standards
  • Conduct regular audits of field and internal operations, including:
  • Specimen collection accuracy
  • Intake documentation completeness
  • Chain of custody adherence
  • Billing and coding accuracy
  • Identify compliance risks and implement corrective action plans
  • Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews

Training & Development

  • Design and execute comprehensive training programs for:
  • Specimen collectors
  • Intake technicians
  • Logistics staff
  • Territory managers
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including:
  • SOPs
  • Training manuals
  • Competency checklists
  • Certification/recertification programs
  • Implement multiple training methods such as:
  • In-person training sessions
  • Virtual/remote learning modules
  • Hands-on demonstrations
  • Field shadowing and evaluations
  • Track and report employee competency, training completion, and performance metrics

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Author, review, and continuously update SOPs for all operational workflows, including:
  • Specimen collection (UTI/STI, RPP, nail fungal, etc.)
  • Patient intake and documentation
  • Sample accessioning and transport
  • Patient follow-up protocols
  • Billing and reimbursement processes
  • Ensure SOPs are clear, compliant, and operationally practical
  • Collaborate with leadership to align SOPs with business goals and scalability

Medical Billing & Patient Workflow Oversight

  • Ensure accurate and compliant medical billing practices, including:
  • Proper coding (CPT/ICD-10)
  • Documentation requirements
  • Claims submission and follow-up
  • Oversee patient follow-up processes to ensure:
  • Timely communication of results
  • Proper documentation
  • Escalation protocols when needed
  • Work cross-functionally with billing teams and providers to resolve discrepancies

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and organized records for:
  • Training logs
  • Competency assessments
  • Audit results
  • Compliance reports
  • Implement systems to track and store documentation securely and efficiently
  • Generate regular reports for executive leadership on compliance and training performance

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on compliance and training across the organization
  • Partner with Operations, Logistics, and Executive Leadership to improve workflows
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and compliance
  • Provide coaching and corrective training where performance gaps are identified

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Clinical Science, Nursing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, laboratory operations, or clinical training
  • Extensive knowledge of:
  • Specimen collection methods (urine, swabs, nail samples, etc.)
  • Patient intake and follow-up workflows
  • Medical billing and coding practices
  • Proven experience writing SOPs and training materials
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA)
  • Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Strong auditing and analytical capabilities

Preferred

  • Experience in laboratory or diagnostic testing environments
  • Certification in compliance (e.g., CHC) or clinical field
  • Experience with LIMS or healthcare software platforms
  • Background in scaling training programs across multiple regions
