Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy aligned with institutional priorities, brand positioning, and enrollment objectives.
- Lead the editorial vision and storytelling approach across institutional channels, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and messaging.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact stories that demonstrate the distinctive strengths of Allegheny’s academic programs, student experiences, and outcomes.
- Create and maintain a centralized institutional editorial calendar across web, social media, video, and other digital platforms.
Enrollment Marketing Support
- Serve as the primary content partner for the enrollment marketing team, developing compelling narratives and campaigns that attract prospective students.
- Collaborate with admissions and enrollment leaders to produce purposeful content that supports recruitment priorities at each stage of the prospective student journey.
- Use audience insights and performance analytics to refine targeted messaging and content strategies that improve engagement and conversion.
Digital Content Execution
- Adapt and distribute content across digital channels including the College website and social media platforms in alignment with the overall digital strategy.
- Write and direct copy for landing pages, social media, and other digital content touchpoints.
- Apply SEO best practices in content creation and editing, ensuring discoverability without compromising voice or quality.
- Collaborate with web and digital staff to ensure content is optimized for user experience, accessibility, and platform performance.
- Provides oversight and inspection of safety equipment including but not limited to automated external defibrillators, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and manual door tools (extraction and securing).
- Coordinate annual fire safety inspections with the local fire department, including self pre-safety inspections, by coordinating schedules, provide oversight and access to all campus locations; Ensure college and city fire regulations are met.
Content Performance & Innovation
- Monitor analytics and performance metrics across channels to assess content effectiveness, identify opportunities, and guide continuous improvement.
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends, utilizing innovative storytelling techniques and emerging platforms to amplify the College’s impact.
- Use audience insights and performance data to refine messaging, optimize content strategies, and improve engagement and conversion in partnership with the Enrollment Marketing team.
- Explore new content formats and distribution strategies that expand the College’s reach and deepen audience engagement.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
- 4-7 years of related professional experience required; 7-10 years preferredEn
Required Knowledge
- Experience in higher education marketing or communications preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity with enrollment marketing strategies and prospective student communications.
- Familiarity with the recruitment funnel, including the specific messaging needs for the inquiry, applicant, and admitted student stages.
Required Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience leading content teams and managing multi-channel editorial strategies preferred

Compensation
Expected starting salary : $70,000.00 full time, exempt
