Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) is seeking a strategic, relationship-centered Director of Development to lead fundraising through events, corporate sponsorships, donor engagement, partnerships, and major gifts. This role builds and stewards a robust pipeline of individual, corporate, and community supporters to ensure SEI meets and exceeds its annual goals—ultimately advancing our mission for youth, families, and community.

Primary Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop a robust fundraising plan to achieve SEI’s Annual Agency Fundraising

Goal of $2,000,000.

  • Lead planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and planned giving stewardship programs.
  • Partner with the Director of Strategic Giving on institutional priorities and capital efforts.

Donor Engagement & Major Gifts

  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a donor portfolio of $600,000 annually, with a focus on gifts of $50,000+.
  • Implement digital donor engagement strategies and multi-channel campaigns that deepen donor loyalty and increase giving.

Sponsorships & Partnerships

  • Curate sponsorship packages and lead meaningful post-event recaps to secure renewals and upgrades.
  • Build partnerships with community and corporate stakeholders to expand SEI’s

reach and influence.

Events Leadership

  • Plan and execute fundraising events to ensure brand alignment and exceptional attendee experiences.

  • Track event budgets (revenue and expenses), assess ROI, and continuously optimize the event portfolio.

Data, Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee Raiser’s Edge NXT gift processing, acknowledgments, and record-keeping.
  • Produce dashboards and monthly fundraising reports and uphold financial protocols and audit readiness.
  • Record all donor actions and touchpoints in Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise development staff, facilitate work plans, team meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate across departments to align fundraising with programmatic goals and organizational storytelling.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Progressive executive leadership experience in Development/Fundraising with a track record in revenue-generating campaigns and planned giving.
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate and facilitate complex conflict resolution processes; trauma-informed practices and equity lens in all work.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
