Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has been an active affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International for more than 30 years. By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION



Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is seeking a strategic and creative Director of Digital Content to lead the organization’s digital storytelling, community engagement, and multi-platform social media growth.

This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing organic and paid social media strategies that elevate Habitat LA’s mission, support program awareness and fundraising, and build strong relationships with volunteers, donors, residents, and partners across Greater Los Angeles.


SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



**THIS IS A HYBRID WORKING POSITION**


Social Media Strategy & Channel Management
  • Lead strategy and execution across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Neighbors (Ring)
  • Build and manage content calendars in Sprout Social
  • Create and publish social media posts including engaging copywriting, optimization, and performance tracking
  • Manage YouTube publishing strategy and scheduling

Campaign Leadership
  • Develop and execute social campaigns supporting affordable homeownership programs, volunteer engagement, disaster response initiatives (ReBUILD LA), advocacy and community awareness, and ReStore promotions
  • Partner with internal teams to align messaging and campaign goals

Team Leadership & Production Oversight

  • Supervise social media team members, volunteers, freelancers, and content creators
  • Lead production planning for major events and initiatives
  • Provide creative direction, feedback, and approvals on content deliverables
  • Facilitate weekly meetings, manage workload prioritization, and assign performance-driven fiscal year goals

Paid Social Media & Digital Advertising
  • Create and optimize paid social media campaigns across multiple ad accounts
  • Manage campaign budgets, targeting strategies, and performance reporting
  • Collaborate with program teams to drive email acquisition and conversions

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Support influencer collaborations, social media partnerships, and outreach
  • Guide community engagement strategies and audience growth initiatives
Reporting & Analytics
  • Lead weekly and monthly reporting on social performance, campaign impact, and growth trends
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership and program teams

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check, and a driving record check
  • 8+ years of experience in social media marketing or digital communications
  • Experience managing multi-platform social media strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising staff or contractors
  • Strong storytelling, copywriting, and campaign development skills
  • Experience with Sprout Social or similar tools
  • Familiarity with paid social media platforms and performance reporting
  • Passion for community impact and nonprofit mission work
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $80,000 - $105,000

Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. They range from entry to mid-level.
