The Role
The Director of E-Commerce will be the architect and driver of our digital commerce strategy across DTC and marketplaces. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for revenue, profitability, and brand-building in a multi-channel environment.
You’ll balance strategic leadership (roadmap, forecasting, partner management) with hands-on execution (merchandising, site experience, analytics). This role is built for a digital leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture and loves both pets and performance.
What You’ll Do:
Channel Growth & Ownership
- Own the P&L for all digital commerce channels (Shopify DTC, Amazon, Chewy, Faire, and future platforms).
- Lead Amazon and Chewy business strategy, working closely with agency partners to scale sales, ads, DSP, and content.
- Grow Shopify DTC sites (Meowijuana.com and Doggijuana.com), driving CVR, AOV, and repeat purchase.
- Expand wholesale/B2B digital experience to unlock new revenue streams.
Site Experience & Conversion
- Oversee site merchandising, content, navigation, and homepage refreshes.
- Lead CRO/A/B testing programs: design, execute, and scale learnings.
- Implement lifecycle marketing: email, SMS, loyalty, and subscriptions.
- Drive SEO strategy (technical + content) to increase organic traffic.
Operations & Excellence
- Ensure accurate online inventory and on-time execution of product launches.
- Manage PDP accuracy and brand-enhancing content: titles, images, video, A+ pages.
- Partner cross-functionally (Product, Ops, Creative) to ensure flawless execution.
Analytics, Marketing & Leadership
- Set and track digital KPIs/OKRs: revenue growth, conversion, LTV, CAC, contribution margin.
- Partner with performance marketing (paid social, search, retail media) to align growth with efficiency.
- Deploy tools and processes to improve visibility and decision-making (GA4, attribution, dashboards).
- Build, lead, and mentor a small but mighty team, and manage outside agencies.
What Success Looks Like (12 Months)
- Revenue Growth: Double-digit increases across DTC and marketplaces.
- Conversion Lift: Meaningful CVR and AOV gains driven by CRO and UX improvements.
- Profitability: Clear CAC/LTV guardrails, improved ROAS, and higher contribution margin.
- Customer Retention: Increased repeat purchase rate and lifecycle marketing impact.
- Operational Excellence: 98%+ catalog accuracy, zero critical launch defects.
What You Bring
- 7+ years in e-commerce leadership (DTC + marketplaces) with a strong record of P&L ownership.
- Deep Shopify expertise; experience with Amazon Seller/Vendor Central, Chewy, and B2B digital platforms.
- Strong grasp of performance marketing, SEO, CRO, lifecycle marketing, and martech ecosystems.
- Hands-on analytics fluency: GA4, Excel/Sheets; comfort building reports and dashboards.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and agency partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: flexible, resourceful, detail-driven, with a passion for pets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or relevant field.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
