The Role

Own the Amazon business. Build the playbook. Drive the results.

Goods iQ is scaling fast — and Amazon is a critical growth engine. We need a Director of eCommerce who doesn’t just manage the account, but owns it completely: strategy, P&L, advertising, content, operations, and team.

This is one of the most visible roles in the company. You’ll operate at the intersection of sales, product development, marketing, finance, and supply chain — leading cross-functional efforts that directly impact top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Amazon P&L Ownership

– Own the full Amazon P&L – revenue, margin, advertising/promo funding, profitability, and market share with complete accountability for annual and long-range business performance

– Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned to company growth targets and market share expansion goals across all strategic business units

– Identify, prioritize, and unlock growth levers across pricing, assortment, content, and advertising to maximize commercial impact

– Own the Amazon vendor relationship at the highest leave cultivating deep partnerships with Amazon’s vendor management teams to unlock growth opportunities, secure favorable terms, and position Goods iQ as the preferred supplier across the portfolio

Channel Strategy and Growth

– Define and lead end-to-end Amazon strategy across Vendor Central and/or Seller Central

– Drive top-line growth through disciplined traffic acquisition, conversion rate optimzation, and AOV improvement

– Drive new product launches and category penetration initiatives that expand Goods iQ footprint identifying white space opportunities, leading cross-functional launch execution, and owning the metrics that define whether a new product wins or loses on the platform

– Own product-lifecycle management on the platform – from launch strategy to assortment expansion and end-of-life decisions

Advertising and Marketing

– Lead Amazon advertising strategy across all campaign types – Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and DSP

– Build and maintain full-funnel alignment between paid media, organic search rankings, and content strategy

– Own advertising efficiency targets including ROAS, TACoS, and contribution margin and hold team accountable to continuous performance improvement

Pricing, Promotions and Profitability

– Own pricing strategy and promotional planning across full Amazon catalog, balancing aggressive growth with sustainable margin targets

– Manage advertising spend, promotional funding, and strategy across tentpole events including Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and seasonal peaks

– Analyze profitability at ASIN level and make decisive resource allocation decisions to optimize contribution margin across the portfolio

Content and Digital Shelf

– Set and enforce the standard for best-in-class product detail pages, A+ content, and Brand Stores, and visual content across all listings

– Drive SEO, keyword ranking, and conversion optimization treating the digital shelf as the primary growth lever, not a maintenance task

– Establish content quality standards and hold internal external teams accountable to consistent execution across the full catalog

Inventory and Operations

– Partner with supply chain and operations to maintain optimal inventory levels, accurate forecasting, and industry leading in-stock rates

– Partner with operations to eliminate sources of chargebacks, shortages, and operational inefficiencies before they impact performance

– Own the Amazon operational scorecard and treat them as a direct reflection of your leadership

Analytics and Reporting

– Build and own a comprehensive reporting infrastructure across all key Amazon KPIs: sales, margin, market share, conversion, traffic, TACoS,

– Translate performance data into actionable insights and clear strategic recommendations that drive decisions at the executive level

– Monitor competitive activity, Amazon algorithm changes, and platform policy updates and adapt strategy ahead of the market

Cross-Functional Leadership

– Serve as the internal authority and strategic leader for Amazon initiatives setting direction, driving alignment, and removing barriers across the organization

– Build close relationships with Marketing, Product Development, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless cross-functional execution

– Establish clear accountability frameworks across teams and the organization to shared growth goals and performance standards

Skills and Competencies

Business Ownership

– True P&L ownership mentality — you think like a general manager/CEO for the account

– Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution without losing either

– Data-driven decision maker with a consistent bias for action

Amazon Expertise

– Deep, proven expertise across Vendor Central and/or Seller Central at scale

– Mastery of Amazon Advertising, SEO, digital shelf optimization, and content strategy

– Strong command of pricing, promotions, and trade spend management

Leadership and Collaboration

– Demonstrated people leader who develops, inspires, and holds direct reports to a high standard while mobilizing the broader organization behind a shared vision for sales growth and market share expansion across the full portfolio

– Builds cross-functional alignment across eCommerce, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, and Operations, and drives teams to execute with precision and accountability

– Translates complex data and performance insights into clear, compelling narratives for executive leadership

– Contagious energy and an ownership mindset that elevates everyone around you

Operational Discipline

– Advanced analytical skills across Excel, data tools, and platform-native reporting – comfortable building and interpreting performance models from scratch

– Exceptional attention to detail across a high-volume, fast-moving business

– Thrives in ambiguity and treats change as an opportunity, not an obstacle

Qualifications

– 8+ years of eCommerce experience with deep, hands-on Amazon expertise

– Proven track record managing Amazon at scale (Vendor and/or Seller Central)

– Strong P&L ownership experience with a focus on profitability and growth

– Deep understanding of Amazon Advertising, SEO, and digital shelf best practices

– Experience managing pricing, promotions, and trade spend at the account level

– Advanced Excel, Ai, and data analysis skills; experience with BI and reporting tools

– Experience with digital shelf software tools, Salsify, Salesforce CRM & Marketing Cloud

– Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA a strong plus

– Military experience a strong plus — we deeply respect the leadership and ownership it develops
