SkyWater is partnering with a client in the Northwest metro who’s looking for a Director of Engineering to join their growing team! The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering function for our client while leading a team of 10 reports. This includes providing technical engineering leadership to team members, overseeing new product development, and leading the design & manufacturing of products. The Director of Engineering will play a critical role on our client’s leadership team while helping shape the engineering function, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the company’s strategic growth plans. Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team (design, manufacturing, etc.) and distribute projects & responsibilities to team members.
• Partner with company leadership to achieve strategic initiatives and grow the engineering function.
• Look for engineering efficiencies, process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage engineering department budget and provide strategic insight for long-term planning.
• Work directly with customers to understand the Voice of the Customer (VoC) and use insights for future product development projects.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
  
  

Desired Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience and ideally diverse engineering experience (working in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, product development, etc.).
• 5+ years of team management or leadership experience. Ideally experience leading global teams.
• Experience working in the semiconductor, metrology, or life science industries highly preferred (or a combination of similar industries).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to align teams & drive growth.
