Director of Environmental Services

Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC), a generation and transmission electric cooperative based in southern Illinois, is seeking a Director of Environmental Services with a strong background in compliance with Federal and Illinois environmental laws, rules and regulations. The position is located south of Marion, Illinois, at SIPC Headquarters building, on Lake of Egypt.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or science related field and a master’s degree is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess eight years experience in the environmental field and previous electrical utility experience is preferred. The applicant must possess excellent written, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Duties and responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the ability to evaluate the economic and regulatory future to assist in environmental planning; provide comments and feedback on environmental regulations and rule proposals and represent the company at environmental meetings with state and federal agencies. The applicant will evaluate various projects to determine environmental regulatory applicability and provide concisely summarized feedback to appropriate stakeholders. Additionally, the applicant will be expected to manage various environmental projects as assigned. The applicant will manage emissions data, compliance requirements and the departmental budget and will manage environmental staff, contractors and/or vendors.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000
