Position Summary

The Director of Finance serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for overseeing the financial health, strategy, and operational performance of the Company. This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of accounting, financial planning, reporting, and internal control functions, with an initial focus on deeply understanding and supporting the Company’s day-to-day financial operations.

The Director of Finance will guide financial strategy, enhance financial and operational analytics, and ensure the integrity of the Company’s financial systems and reporting. This leader will work closely with operational departments across manufacturing, distribution, and administration to support performance management and capital planning. This role is expected to evolve in scope as the Company progresses through system enhancements and operational improvements, creating an opportunity for increased strategic leadership and organizational impact over time.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial expertise with business leadership, operational insight, and the ability to translate financial data into strategic recommendations that support company growth and profitability.

Core Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Operations

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, collections, and financial reporting.

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial statements and management reporting.

  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  • Maintain strong internal control systems and financial governance practices.

  • Manage preparation and coordination of external audits and tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Lead the company’s annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning.

  • Provide financial forecasting, performance analysis, and operational metrics for leadership.

  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting strategic initiatives and capital investments.

  • Conduct proactive financial and operational analysis to support improved profitability and working capital management.

  • Provide cost accounting oversight for manufacturing operations including standard costing, variance analysis, and product cost management.

Treasury and Cash Management

  • Oversee banking relationships, lines of credit, and other financing arrangements, including compliance with lender reporting requirements and financial covenants.

  • Manage cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and capital requirements.

  • Monitor working capital performance including receivables, payables, and inventory levels.

  • Prepare required financial reporting packages for lenders and financial institutions.

Risk Management and Corporate Administration

  • Lead the company’s risk management and insurance programs including annual renewals and claims oversight.

  • Maintain relationships with external partners including auditors, financial institutions, insurance providers, and legal advisors.

  • Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies, and procedures are maintained across the organization.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

Leadership and Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth.

  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships with operations, sales, manufacturing, distribution, and corporate departments.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision making.

Financial Strategy and Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on financial performance, business planning, and operational efficiency.

  • Translate financial data and analysis into actionable insights that support company growth and profitability.

  • Participate in executive planning related to acquisitions, capital investments, operational expansion, and long-term strategic initiatives.

  • Provide leadership in developing the company’s financial roadmap and long-term financial strategy.

  • Present financial performance and insights to executive leadership, board members, and financial partners when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.

  • CPA preferred.

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles.

  • Experience in manufacturing and distribution environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, operational analysis, and financial reporting.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing professional teams.

  • Strong business partnership skills and ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial leaders.

Experience with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools.
