Position Overview
As the Director of Human Resources, you will be a strategic partner to the executive leadership team while overseeing day-to-day HR operations across our manufacturing facilities. You will design and execute HR strategies that support our business goals, with a heavy emphasis on high-volume manufacturing recruitment, workforce retention, labor compliance, and workplace safety culture.
This role requires a unique blend of strategic vision and "boots-on-the-ground" leadership, moving seamlessly from executive meetings to the manufacturing plant floor.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Talent Management

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall manufacturing and business goals.

Create robust recruitment, onboarding, and training pipelines to support continuous shift operations.

Build succession plans and leadership development programs for plant managers, supervisors, and shift leads.
Employee Relations & Retention

Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees, resolving complex employee relations issues fairly and efficiently.

Design and implement innovative retention strategies tailored to manufacturing personnel to reduce turnover and boost morale.

Foster an inclusive, high-performance workplace culture that bridges the gap between administrative and production staff.
Safety & Compliance

Partner closely with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team to ensure a zero-injury safety culture and strict OSHA compliance.

Oversee workers' compensation claims management, return-to-work programs, and root-cause analysis.

Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC.
Compensation, Benefits, & HR Data

Evaluate and optimize compensation structures, shift differentials, and bonus programs to keep the company competitive in the local labor market.

Oversee the administration of comprehensive health, retirement, and wellness benefits programs.

Utilize HRIS data and key performance indicators (KPIs) - such as time-to-hire, turnover rates, and labor costs—to drive data-backed business decisions.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

Experience: 7+ years of progressive HR management experience, with at least 3-5 years leading HR within a manufacturing or industrial environment (chemical processing, medical devices, or plastics/rubber manufacturing is a massive plus).

Certifications: SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification strongly preferred.

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the unique challenges of high-volume manufacturing environments, including shift work, safety standards, and operational efficiency.

Soft Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence, stellar conflict resolution skills, and the ability to build trust with both production workers and executive leadership.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency with modern HRIS, ATS, and time/attendance software.
