Our client is a growing organization seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources to establish and lead their HR function from the ground up. This is a pivotal new role that will shape the people strategy and culture as we scale. This role demands a seasoned HR leader with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, provide executive coaching, and drive workforce planning initiatives that support long-term organizational success. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable shaping culture and leading change as they are managing day-to-day HR operations with a strong generalist foundation.

Requirements:
The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job.

Provide coaching and counsel to executive senior leadership and managers throughout the enterprise to maximize the effectiveness of their teams to meet company deliverables and/or solve complex organizational and people matters

Oversee the development and maintenance of an employee handbook, ensure consistent use of the handbook, and support the ideation, development, and implementation of human resource policies and procedures as appropriate

Project-manage workforce changes and culture impact initiatives including strategic staffing plans, organizational (re)structure, and development activities

Work with organization leaders to define role clarity, craft job descriptions, and align career leveling with internal benchmarks and compensation structure

Attract, enable, and retain high performing employees: establish a scalable recruitment and onboarding process to ensure compliance with a positive candidate and new hire experience

Lead research, analysis and selection of, and later oversee and administer enterprise benefits programs, including annual open enrollment and benefits cost analysis in partnership with Finance

Partner with Finance to support enterprise payroll processes

Establishes process and protocol for managing employee relations, including conducting investigations and offering support and counsel to internal leaders and managers to navigate complex employee issues in a fair and compliant manner

Develop and deliver employee training programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state-required trainings in addition to leadership, behavioral and developmental training

Define and execute talent management processes to assess talent and deploy development programs such as career pathing and succession planning

Establish forums and processes to garner employee feedback and identify mechanisms to foster employee engagement

Demonstrate an integrated approach to learn, interact, and know the talent within functional teams, and provide objective guidance on team dynamics, maximizing skill sets, and overall culture shaping

Ensure fair and consistent employee practices through strong understanding and application of employment and labor laws and regulations at the federal, state and local levels including FLSA, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and NLRA

Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business, Communications, or related field of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced degree and/or related certification(s), such as PHR, SPHR, HRCI, etc., a plus

Minimum 8+ years of experience in medium to large company with progressive HR generalist experience and teams and with demonstrated experience building the foundation of a HR function

Demonstrated experience and functional knowledge in recruiting, organization design and workforce planning, HR compliance, employee relations, total rewards, payroll processing, performance management, and change management

Experience in the financial services, insurance, banking sector(s), a plus

Experience in project management

Experience with HRIS and payroll systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or related software
