Colonial Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Colonial Heights, VA is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Director of Human Resources.

As the Director of Human Resources for our healthcare center, you will be at the forefront of helping us grow and support the best team possible to enable us to achieve our mission of providing Care Beyond Compare.

The Director of Human Resources reports to the healthcare center’s Administrator and is directly responsible for the day-to-day human resources duties at the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience in supporting payroll operations preferred.

  • Team-player with ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships at all levels in the organization.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize conflicting demands and work autonomously.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Experience working with HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, and other HR related systems.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related regulations and laws and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively execute the organization’s human resources and talent strategy.

  • Maintains accurate and complete employee personnel files in the HRIS system.

  • Support all general HR programs including, but not limited to, the following: recruiting, performance management, training, employment law compliance, compensation and benefits administration, timekeeping and payroll, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee relations, and retention.

  • Execute full-cycle recruiting, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants; Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings and guide hiring teams through the recruitment and hiring decision process.

  • Support learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

  • Manage employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner, including reasonable accommodations, employee disciplinary meetings, employment terminations, and internal investigations.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
