Overview
We are a family-owned automotive dealership and automotive-related business seeking an experienced, people-focused Director of Human Resources to lead and evolve our HR function across the organization. This role is responsible for building strong, practical HR practices that support a high-performance culture, ensure compliance, and enhance employee experience across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
People & Culture
- Champion a positive, accountable, and people-first culture aligned with our family-owned values
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and department managers on employee relations and performance management
- Support leadership development, coaching, and succession planning
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Oversee recruiting strategies for all dealership and automotive-related roles
- Partner with department leaders to ensure effective hiring, onboarding, and retention
- Continuously improve onboarding to drive early engagement and productivity
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
- Manage employee policies, handbook updates, and HR documentation
- Oversee investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations with professionalism and consistency
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Administer compensation structures, incentive plans, and benefits programs
- Partner with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Support leadership with workforce planning and compensation analysis
Performance Management & Training
- Implement and manage performance review processes
- Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs
- Support ongoing employee development across departments
HR Operations & Systems
- Manage HRIS and employee data systems
- Track HR metrics including turnover, engagement, and recruiting effectiveness
- Recommend and implement HR process improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience (automotive, retail, or multi-location environment preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices
- Proven ability to influence leaders and manage sensitive situations with discretion
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting multi-department or multi-location teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (HR certification a plus)
