Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the purpose of the Director of Human Resources position is to provide expertise, leadership and hands-on assistance for all Human Resources related actions that support the Company’s operations. The role is directly responsible for the administration, coordination and evaluation of the company’s Human Resources function and activities pertaining to Employee Relations, Training and Development, Policies and Procedures, Employee Recognition Programs, Performance Management and Succession Planning. The role is also responsible for overseeing Total Rewards programs, including Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, Leave Management (FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, PTO, etc.) and ensures the delivery of value-added programs.

  • Oversees external vendor and internal Human Resources relationships
  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on Human Resources matters
  • Responsible for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all Human Resources matters
  • Communicates changes to the organization’s Human Resources policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization’s performance management process
  • Consults with Chief People Officer, as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on Human Resources matters
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization
  • Supervises Human Resources Department staff
  • Leads training initiatives when new employment policies, or procedures are introduced
  • Regularly updates employment-related policies and SOPs as systems are created or modified
  • Stays abreast of changes in the industry, laws, and regulations; reviews and updates employment policies and performs record keeping duties, as necessary, to ensure compliance
  • Establishes and implements HR efforts that effectively communicates and supports MINT dentistry’s mission and strategic vision
  • Performs other related duties as directed or assigned
The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, honesty, and integrity. Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions (80%):
  • Manages employee relations matters and provides counsel to all levels of management in the organization and ensures compliance with all aspects of employment law
  • Develop and implement staff development and training
  • Manages and guides all employment related lawsuits and third-party complaints while keeping the CEO and CPO appraised, as necessary
  • Investigates, documents, prepares written responses, and appeals all Workforce Claims
  • Advises and assists management with employee issues and the interpretation and application of Company policies, local, state, and federal employment laws, and fair employment practices
  • Responsible for the end-to-end administration of the Company’s performance management process
  • Forecasts staffing needs and directs recruiting and placement
  • Designs, creates, and analyzes reports and makes recommendations to reduce turnover
  • Develops, interprets, and maintains all Human Resources policies and procedures, and ensures that all Human Resources practices are in full compliance
  • Develops comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the Company’s human capital needs
  • Works with the company’s executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives
Essential Job Functions (20%):
  • Oversees and assists with all Total Rewards programs including Compensation, Benefits and Retirement Plan design and administration, HRIS management and optimization, Leave Management (FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, PTO, etc.) and Payroll processing
  • Ensures efficient and effective Total Rewards programs
  • Oversees the development and implementation of affordable and appropriate Total Rewards programs
  • Oversees and directs ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Oversees the activities and performance of the Total Rewards Manager and function
  • Delivers company-wide training and support for all Total Rewards plans and programs
Non-essential Functions:
  • Consults General Counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law
  • Represents Human Resources at internal and external management meetings
  • Participates in company social media and advertising efforts
  • Participates in recruiting and marketing events
  • Participates in company outings and team-building events
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, and a minimum of five years directly related experience in Human Resources, Total Rewards and Payroll management
  • Minimum five years managing Human Resources staff
  • Strong background as a Human Resources Business Partner/Generalist
  • Significant Total Rewards program knowledge and experience, including HRIS and Payroll
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credentials preferred

  • Skilled in gathering, summarizing and reporting information to senior management
  • Proficiency using MS Office and G-Suite
