We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Director of Intake to spearhead our assessment and referral department. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the entire clinical admissions team and serve as the strategic bridge between our facility and the community. You be responsible for the strategic planning and daily management of the intake process, ensuring every potential patient receives the highest level of care from the very first contact.

The position provides expert guidance during after-hours and on-call work as required for Intake related needs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Direct Operations: Supervise all assessment and admission services.
    • Staff Development: Recruit, schedule, and mentor staff to ensure 24/7 coverage, providing regular performance feedback and ongoing training in admission procedures.
    • Strategic Oversight: Monitor and analyze admission data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational growth.
  • Clinical Excellence & Patient Advocacy
    • Clinical Consultation: Collaborate closely with the Medical Staff, CNO, and CEO to determine the clinical appropriateness of all potential admissions.
    • Crisis Assessment: Utilize advanced clinical skills to evaluate patient crises, determine the necessary level of care, and assess the need for involuntary hospitalization.
    • Seamless Transitions: Ensure a smooth patient experience by providing detailed clinical hand-offs to the receiving physician and nursing teams.
    • Documentation: Deliver high-quality, timely written reports and treatment recommendations immediately following each completed assessment.
  • Community Relations & Business Development
    • Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong referral relationships in alignment with facility marketing goals to meet community healthcare needs.
    • Educational Outreach: Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital services to community healthcare entities in an educational and professional capacity.
    • Expert Liaison: Maintain deep knowledge of behavioral health pathologies, treatment models, and community resources to effectively guide patients and peers toward appropriate care options.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Regulatory Mastery: Ensure strict adherence to all legal and regulatory guidelines, including EMTALA/COBRA and mandatory abuse/neglect reporting protocols.
    • Collaborative Practice: Foster productive working relationships with physicians, nursing leadership, and external health professional affiliates.

Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience, specifically in behavioral healthcare hospital admissions required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience evaluating staff and implementing programs required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred.
  • State of Nevada clinical licensure (such as RN, LCSW, LMFT, or LPN) preferred.
