We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Investment & Finance to lead our project financing strategy, shareholder relations, and investment governance for our rapidly expanding portfolio of commercial & industrial (C&I) renewable energy developments across the Middle East. This is a pivotal leadership role in a start-up environment where agility, curiosity, and proactive collaboration are essential. You will play a critical part in securing capital, standardizing investment processes, and influencing stakeholders at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with shareholders and key investment partners across the region.
- Project Financing: Lead the structuring and execution of debt financing for acquisitions and development projects, ensuring optimal capital strategies.
- Investment Governance: Prepare and present investment cases to the investment committee, driving approval of complex transactions.
- Team Enablement: Educate and coach internal teams on best practices for project structuring, finance processes, and investment readiness.
- Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and continuously update standardized investment procedures to match our evolving portfolio and market dynamics.
Challenges & Milestones
In the next 3 to 12 months, you'll be expected to:
- 3 Months: Gain stakeholder buy-in and secure investment committee approvals on priority deals.
- 6 Months: Navigate the complexities of project financing in the C&I sector in the Middle East, securing necessary lender support.
- 12 Months: Establish a scalable framework for internal education and consistent investment process management across teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in investment, M&A, and project finance, with strong exposure to C&I renewable projects in the Gulf region.
- Expertise: Proven track record in solar energy, shareholder engagement, and large-scale financing initiatives.
- Culture Fit: Thrive in a hands-on, collaborative start-up culture-you're comfortable wearing multiple hats and driving things forward.
- Personal Traits: Transparent communicator, team player, intellectually curious, proactive, and capable of challenging norms while mentoring others.
- Language: Fluent in English (required); proficiency in Arabic is an added bonus.
