The Director of IT Governance provides enterprise leadership over IT service delivery, project execution, and cybersecurity to ensure technology capabilities are secure, resilient, and aligned with business strategy. This role establishes governance frameworks, performance standards, and ITSM disciplines that drive operational excellence, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance. As a strategic partner to senior leadership, the Director enables scalable growth and delivers measurable improvements in service quality, project outcomes, and organizational cyber maturity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and manages IT service delivery functions including help desk, PMO, and cybersecurity operations.
- Establishes and scales a high-performing help desk focused on responsiveness, user satisfaction, and SLA adherence.
- Oversees the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring standardized project delivery, prioritization, and resource alignment.
- Drives cybersecurity strategy including threat detection, vulnerability management, risk mitigation, and compliance.
- Implements and maintains IT service management (ITSM) processes including incident, problem, and change management.
- Develops and enforces governance frameworks across IT operations and project execution.
- Monitors and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) including service levels, project delivery timelines, and security posture.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and service quality.
- Builds, mentors, and retains high-performing teams across service desk, PMO, and security functions.
- Delivers measurable improvements in service delivery, project success rates, and cybersecurity resilience within defined timelines.

Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 10+ years in IT operations with 5+ years leading help desk, PMO, and cybersecurity functions.
- Knowledge: ITIL frameworks, project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall), cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance standards.
- Skills: Leadership, stakeholder management, incident response, project delivery, communication, and operational governance.
Preferred:
- Experience:
- Experience with large-scale, multi-entity environments.
- Experience in multi-entity or distributed organizations.
- Certifications: ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Knowledge: Automation tools, service desk platforms, and security monitoring systems (SIEM, EDR).

This role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, and communicate clearly. Manual dexterity is needed for operating standard office equipment. The position may occasionally involve lifting items up to 10 pounds and may require occasional travel.
- Work Environment: Work is typically performed in a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled office environment with low to moderate noise levels. Occasional visits to field locations may be required.
