Position Overview
The Director of Learning & Enablement leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of learning programs and enablement systems across our carwash operations. This role combines strategic program design with hands-on execution, building the tools, content, and platforms that support employee development, operational consistency, and customer experience excellence.
While candidates based in or near Orange County, CA are preferred, the role requires regular travel to carwash locations across the region and occasional travel to Houston to support onsite training and operational initiatives.
Learning & Development Systems

Lead the strategy, development, and administration of learning platforms (e.g., LMS, e-learning tools) to ensure consistent, high-quality training delivery across all carwash locations.

Build scalable learning programs for onboarding, technical, safety, and leadership development, aligning content with operational standards and career growth pathways.

Oversee digital content creation, including videos, e-learning modules, and job aids, leveraging both internal expertise and external content partners.

Apply practical adult learning principles to create engaging, easy-to-absorb materials for a diverse, field-based workforce.

Monitor system usage, completion rates, and learning impact, ensuring reliable data tracking and continuous improvement of training content.

Explore and adopt new learning technologies and methods to enhance delivery, engagement, and accessibility across the organization.
Enablement & Process Optimization

Partner with Operations and HR to document and standardize SOPs, policies, and processes that ensure a consistent customer and employee experience across all carwash locations.

Develop intuitive “how-to” guides, playbooks, and digital reference materials that reinforce service standards, operational excellence, and brand consistency.

Ensure training adoption and service quality through store visits, audits, and manager coaching, reinforcing expectations for both employee performance and customer interactions.

Collaborate with district and site leaders to identify operational or customer-experience bottlenecks and create tools, templates, or micro-trainings that drive efficiency and elevate the guest experience.
Talent & Development Programs

Conduct regular needs assessments and feedback reviews to identify skill gaps and align learning programs with operational goals.

Design and maintain role-based competency models, leadership readiness frameworks, and career progression paths across all operational and management roles.

Develop consistent, company-wide competency language to ensure clarity and alignment across training, evaluation, and performance processes.

Lead targeted development programs (e.g., Manager-in-Training or leadership acceleration initiatives) that build internal pipelines and strengthen succession planning.

Establish and maintain regular talent review processes to evaluate performance, potential, and readiness for promotion.

Measure program effectiveness through retention, engagement, and internal promotion metrics to ensure tangible organizational impact.
Change Management & Continuous Improvement

Champion adoption of learning systems, tools, and programs across all levels of the organization, ensuring consistent use and long-term impact.

Collect feedback from operators, managers, and employees to identify opportunities for simplification and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with leadership and HR to ensure development tools and processes remain practical, user-friendly, and aligned with business needs.

Leverage technology to enhance accessibility and engagement—ensuring employees can easily access learning resources, track progress, and provide feedback.

Monitor key metrics such as training adoption, retention, and satisfaction to evaluate program success and guide future improvements.
Requirements:
Required Experience
-
7+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Organizational Development, with at least 3 years in a multi-unit, field-based or franchise environment.

Proven experience leading the design, implementation, and administration of learning platforms (LMS or equivalent).

Demonstrated success building scalable learning programs, competency frameworks, and leadership development initiatives.

Strong instructional design background and familiarity with adult learning principles and modern digital learning tools.

Skilled at gathering and analyzing training data, feedback, and adoption metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Excellent collaboration, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Experience

Experience designing or leading Manager-in-Training or leadership pipeline programs.

Exposure to carwash, automotive, retail, or other multi-unit service operations.

Working knowledge of change management practices and technology adoption strategies.
