Job Summary:

Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities associated with ECA’s Thousand Oaks, California Operations. Responsible for the performance of all Departmental functions including Production Molding, Machining, Cleanroom, Warehousing, Manufacturing Engineering, Safety and Facilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

· Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, customer service, and order entry efficiency.

· Oversee the utilization of MRP/ERP for efficient and effective materials planning

· Leads a LEAN Manufacturing Culture capable of effective continuous improvement

· Ensure on time delivery, labor efficiency and yield goals are met

· Ensure a smooth design transfer of new products into production for successful product launches

· Reviews performance against operating plans (OKR’s) and standards.

· Defines and recommends objectives in each area of Operations. Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.

· Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and personnel and facilities requirements forecasts.

· Coordinates and collaborates with other departments in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.

· Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions along with sufficient planning for areas that support the mission of the Corporation.

· Analyze and determine the organizational structure and personnel requirements that will most effectively meets company objectives.

· Ensure that good relationships with key customers, and suppliers are maintained and strengthened

· Maintain a safe clean and orderly work place

· Effecitive utilization for MRP/ERP tools

· Qualitative and quantitative planning skills

· Knowledge of current manufacturing technology and efficiency methods such as LEAN manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Kanban, and continuous flow methods.

· Understanding of manufacturing and quality practices (6sigma)

· Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

· Results oriented with focus on meeting and exceeding goals

· Excellent work ethic

· Customer service orientation

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Good interpersonal skills, tactful, mature and flexible

Education/Prerequisites:

· B.S. or equivalent

· A minimum of ten (10) years as an Operations, Manufacturing and/or commodity manger for a manufacturing enterprise, with the responsibilities for purchasing, inventory control and production, as well as shipping, receiving, and warehousing.

· Experience with MRP/ERP systems

· Lean Manufacturing

· Sound administrative skills and well-developed management skills.

· Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of varying weather conditions, waste, chemicals and other materials. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may also sit for several hours at a computer area/station.

Requires travel between buildings as well as to and from vendor or customer sites. May require travel to remote locations.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
