Position Summary

The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading and executing all marketing, branding, and communication efforts for our Broker-Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. This key leadership role is focused on enhancing brand visibility, supporting advisor recruitment, coordinating public relations and thought leadership initiatives, and managing the planning and execution of all firm-hosted conferences and events. The Director of Marketing will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to ensure all marketing initiatives align with strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and the firm's mission to support independent financial professionals

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Marketing & Brand Management
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that align with company objectives and industry trends
  • Lead brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling to ensure a consistent and compelling brand presence
  • Collaborate across departments to align marketing initiatives with business development and advisor support goals
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy and positioning

2. Website & Marketing Collateral

  • Manage the company website to ensure accuracy, usability, and regulatory adherence
  • Ensure the website conveys a modern, professional image that reflects the firm's values and reinforces the firm’s commitment to supporting financial independence for both financial advisors and their clients
  • Design and maintain the site to visually project and effectively sell the advisor experience, clearly showcasing the benefits of affiliating with the firm
  • Create and maintain all print and digital marketing materials used in advisor recruitment and firm promotion
  • Ensure all content meets compliance standards (FINRA/SEC) and reflects consistent brand identity

3. Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Oversee digital marketing efforts including content creation, email campaigns, SEO, and paid media
  • Manage the firm’s social media strategy to drive advisor engagement and brand awareness
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications channels
  • Develop advisor communication programs that support recruitment, retention, and engagement

4. Public Relations & Thought Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison to the firm’s retained PR agency
  • Coordinate media opportunities to elevate executive visibility through quotes, interviews, and bylined articles
  • Lead the development and promotion of thought leadership content to position the firm and its leadership as industry experts

5. Advisor Events & Conferences

  • Plan and execute all SFA Partners-hosted events
  • Oversee all event logistics, branding, marketing, sponsorships, and attendee engagement strategies
  • Ensure each event delivers high-quality, on-brand advisor experience

6. Vendor and Project Management

  • Manage relationships with external vendors including PR firms, designers, event coordinators, and marketing agencies
  • Track marketing performance metrics and use data to optimize campaigns and resource allocation
  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and deliverables across all marketing initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or marketing field of study
  • General knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Expertise in digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messaging for financial advisors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and WordPress

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and performance measurement tools.
  • Experience with survey and other email marketing platforms
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and cross-functional projects
