Position Summary:
As Director of Marketing, your key responsibilities are to direct and oversee marketing operations for the ALMQUIST portfolio of properties through marketing, promotion, event programming, tenant coordination, and maximizing foot traffic to ALMQUIST properties. This role requires a balance of creativity and analytical ability, with experience in digital marketing, content creation, community engagement, event programming, and partnership development.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Strategy
- Create and implement marketing plans for retail properties, including goals, objectives, and KPIs.
- Formulate and track marketing budgets, analyze ROI, and report performance metrics.
- Collaborate with Property Management and third-party marketing consultants to develop and execute marketing strategies.
- Assist with the day-of implementation of marketing events at ALMQUIST properties, including vendor procurement and coordination.
- Participate in overall business planning for ALMQUIST.
- Ensure brand standards, values, and visual identity are consistently upheld across all properties, maintaining cohesive branding, voice, and graphic presentation.
- Stay informed on tenant performance to develop and execute marketing tactics and provide tenant support.
- Manage marketing vendors, agencies, and other external partners.
Marketing Tactics
- Oversee and recommend digital marketing initiatives for ALMQUIST and its properties, including email marketing, social media, paid search, Google Ads, display/retargeting, social media advertising, and SEO.
- Develop and execute promotional and programming strategies designed to drive foot traffic and engagement.
- Collaborate with PR and social media agencies to plan and execute media strategies, including pitches, campaigns, press visits, media kits, awards, and tracking.
- Manage website content, functionality, and SEO/SEM programs. Serve as website administrator and liaise with developers for updates.
- Develop and manage social media strategies, influencer partnerships, and web listings on third-party platforms.
- Create and maintain updated brand sheets and marketing collateral (internal and guest-facing).
- Oversee content creation and asset development, including photo/video shoots, asset management, and usage rights.
- Manage direct mail and print advertising campaigns as needed.
Reporting
- Develop and present marketing performance reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly).
- Track and analyze online sentiment and review platforms (e.g., Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor).
- Maintain reporting dashboards and provide data-driven recommendations.
Partnership Development
- Serve as a liaison for local community groups, tourism boards, chambers, and partner organizations.
- Implement partnership marketing programs, including co-op advertising initiatives.
- Leverage partnerships to amplify marketing activations and extend reach.
- Conduct sales outreach to Visit Organizations, CVBs, DMOs, DMCs, meeting planners, tour operators, and transportation companies.
Operations
- Oversee reputation management across third-party platforms (e.g., Google, Yelp, Apple Maps, TripAdvisor).
- Attend Property Management meetings and provide marketing insights.
- Advise and consult with the Development team as needed.

- Digital Skills: Proficiency with AI tools and digital marketing platforms, including social, video, and data analytics.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in digital marketing or a related field.
- Strong copywriting skills and experience creating marketing content.
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategies.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and execute creative marketing campaigns.
Level of Authority
- Reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees social and event consultants, PR agencies, and vendors.
