Director of Marketing and Communications

Overview
Camp Kingswood seeks a part-time Director of Marketing and Communications to serve as a senior leader responsible for marketing strategy, brand stewardship, and community connection. This role leads all camp communications and storytelling, ensuring that every Kingswood touchpoint reflects the camp’s mission, values, voice, and spirit.

The Director of Marketing and Communications strengthens relationships with campers, families, staff, alumni, and community partners while supporting year-round operations and summer leadership. You report to the Camp Director and Owner.

This job can be year round full time or part time, with flexibility to work remotely or in person.

Responsibilities - Marketing, Communications & Brand Strategy

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with enrollment and organizational goals
  • Serve as steward of the Kingswood brand, ensuring consistency, quality, and clarity across all digital and print platforms
  • Oversee all camp communications, including social media, website content, blog posts, newsletters, email campaigns, and partner outreach
  • Own the communications and social media calendars, including planning, creation, and implementation
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate paid promotional campaigns and ad listings across relevant platforms
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach, engagement, and enrollment
  • Supervise and support seasonal content creators during the off-season

Responsibilities - Design, Creative Direction & Content

  • Design and oversee marketing and communications materials for digital, print, and internal use
  • Maintain and uphold visual standards and brand guidelines
  • Create presentations, graphics, and visual materials for meetings, planning, and community engagement
  • Provide internal design and creative support as needed

Responsibilities - Apparel, Merchandise & Marketing Collateral

  • Provide strategic and creative oversight of branded apparel, promotional items, and marketing collateral
  • Coordinate design, production, and vendor timelines for apparel and merchandise
  • Design, source, and manage milestone gifts, staff appreciation items, and promotional materials
  • Oversee the online camp store, including product selection, pricing, inventory, and fulfillment
  • Manage branded canteen items, including ordering and inventory

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in marketing, communications, or brand management
  • Proficiency in Canva; experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) a plus
  • Proficiency in CampMinder/CampInTouch, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Zoom
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content creation, and digital marketing platforms (including Meta, TikTok, and emerging platforms)
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to generate engaging, innovative content for community-based organizations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
  • Knowledge of Jewish culture, values, and community life
  • Prior camp experience required (overnight camp strongly preferred)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, with travel to in person events and for on-site visits.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
