Director of Marketing & Communications

An established, multi-location healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to help lead the execution of marketing strategy, strengthen brand consistency, and oversee internal and external communications. This role supports and reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and plays a key part in shaping the organization’s voice and presence across all channels.

Position Summary

The Director of Marketing & Communications will manage day-to-day marketing operations, guide organizational messaging, and ensure cohesive brand alignment. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on work, including writing, graphic design, digital marketing, web management, and supervision of a Marketing & Communications Specialist. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and creative problem-solver with expertise in digital platforms, design tools, and web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Content Creation

  • Draft, edit, and polish professional communications including memos, letters, newsletters, announcements, and advertising copy.

  • Manage shared communications inboxes and support the effective distribution of organization-wide messages.

  • Maintain clear, consistent, on-brand messaging aligned with organizational standards.

Graphic Design & Visual Branding

  • Design flyers, brochures, social media graphics, digital ads, and other marketing materials.

  • Uphold visual identity standards and ensure high-quality, consistent branding across all platforms.

Digital Marketing & SEO

  • Launch, monitor, and optimize Google Ads and paid social media advertising campaigns.

  • Oversee SEO initiatives, including updating and retrofitting organizational websites to improve search ranking and user experience.

  • Analyze marketing data, identify trends, and adjust campaigns to maximize performance.

Website & SharePoint Development

  • Build, update, and maintain organizational websites using CMS platforms.

  • Design, develop, and manage SharePoint sites to support internal communication and resource sharing.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor the Marketing & Communications Specialist.

  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and cross-functional teams to prioritize work and deliver high-impact, timely materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.

  • Strong graphic design skills; proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.

  • Experience with website building and CMS platforms.

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • Experience designing and administering SharePoint sites.

  • Ability to write, edit, and proofread professional communications.

  • Experience launching and optimizing Google Ads and social media advertising campaigns.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
