THE OPPORTUNITY

Join us in shaping the future of accessibility and inclusion at Braille Institute of America, an organization entering one of the most transformative periods in its history. As part of our strategic plan to expand services and reach more individuals experiencing vision loss, we are seeking an experienced marketing consultant to serve in an interim capacity as Director of Marketing.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role during an extended leave period and ensure continuity across all marketing and communication efforts. The ideal consultant and interim leader will be adept at entering organizations midstream, quickly learning internal systems, working effectively with cross-functional teams, and maintaining campaign momentum without disruption.

We view this as a stewardship role, one that protects and sustains the strong marketing foundation already in place, while maintaining strong thought leadership, guiding the team, and setting the stage for a smooth transition when the permanent Director returns.

This 6–8 month, full-time contract role (3-4 days onsite in Los Angeles and 1-2 days remote) offers the chance to lead a mission-driven team, contribute to high-impact marketing initiatives, and help advance Braille Institute’s vision of expanding reach tenfold over the next five years. Submissions are invited from qualified consultants and based on the scope outlined below.

If you are ready to join a dynamic organization transforming the lives of individuals experiencing vision loss, we want you on our team.

WHO WE ARE

At Braille Institute, we are driven by a shared purpose: to serve the blind and low vision community. We come together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, finding fulfillment in the impact we create. We believe in fostering a culture that is collaborative, inclusive, and flexible.

We understand the importance of work-life balance, valuing both personal and professional fulfillment. Here, you'll find an environment that supports your well-being while providing opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive alongside colleagues who are sighted and visually impaired.

Join us in embracing technology and innovation as we shape the future of accessibility and positively transform the lives of those with vision loss.
