JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): To provide operational and administrative direction for the Materials Management Department. Directs the procurement, standardization, maintenance and distribution of quality supplies and equipment throughout the hospital and clinics. Serves as an internal consultant to the corporation to address materials management issues. Provides leadership in implementing Value Analysis initiatives. Facilitates and ensures compliance with Human Resources processes and programs. Manages budgetary resources within financial parameters. Develops and implements operational and strategic plans. Coordinates annual inventory counts.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business administration, economics or a related field strongly preferred. Prefer at least five (5) years of experience as Material Management Director in the healthcare environment. Knowledge of CMS, Federal and state regulations for both acute care facilities. Demonstrate the ability for good interpersonal communication within the framework of healthcare and the business knowledge to manage conflict resolution.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Professional Certification Preferred
