Overview:
We are seeking a visionary Director of Media to lead our content creation efforts across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of storytelling expertise and technical proficiency in videography, vlogging, editing, and light photography. This role requires a dynamic individual who can create compelling narratives while producing diverse types of content, from cinematic footage to iPhone-style user-generated content (UGC), each optimized for specific purposes. A deep understanding of the sales funnel and experience in creating content for e-commerce conversion, social media engagement, and brand-building is essential. Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Strategy:
- Lead the creation of long-form, short-form, and viral "dumb media" content.
- Develop, execute, and optimize content for social media platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, X (Twitter), and more.
- Produce content for internal uses such as training videos, customer service FAQs, and promotional commercials.
- Utilize B-roll, thumbnail strategies, and both horizontal and vertical formats to maximize engagement and effectiveness.
Storyboarding & Planning:
- Collaborate closely with the CMO and Founder to storyboard and plan all major video and media projects.
- Manage a detailed content calendar that prioritizes campaigns and launches with clear rationale and objectives.
Execution & Leadership:
- Lead the full media production pipeline from ideation and filming to editing and distribution.
- Oversee the hiring of external photographers or specialists for high-end e-commerce and lifestyle shoots when necessary.
- Build and manage a growing media team as the brand scales, ensuring seamless collaboration with the overall marketing strategy and brand vision.
Brand Understanding & Adaptability:
- Ask key questions to deeply understand the brand’s core identity, voice, and emotional connection with its audience.
- Ensure all content produced reflects the brand’s vision and messaging, maintaining consistency across all platforms.
- Stay up to date on current trends in social media, viral content, and platform-specific strategies, adapting when necessary to remain competitive.
Areas of Focus:
- Social Media Platforms: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, X (Twitter), Meta Marketing.
- User-Generated Content (UGC): Ability to blend professional quality with raw, viral-ready content.
- E-commerce Conversion: Produce content that directly impacts online sales and drives conversion rates.
- Trend Awareness: Keep up-to-date with platform trends, memes, and viral content to evolve the brand’s media strategy.
- Organizational Skills: Manage detailed content schedules that balance short-term campaigns and long-term brand-building.
- Documentary/Vlog Creation: Craft compelling vlogs and behind-the-scenes content that is engaging and authentic, with potential for larger-scale projects like a Netflix documentary.
Reporting & Accountability:
- Weekly Reports: Provide concise, data-driven updates to the C-suite, including key metrics on content creation, editing performance, audience engagement, and emotional ROI.
- Highlight milestones, challenges, and strategic insights to improve future content performance.
Requirements:
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in videography, vlogging, editing, and photography.
- Expertise in producing cinematic footage and iPhone/UGC-style content.
- Strong understanding of creating content for different stages of the sales funnel (top, middle, and bottom).
- Experience developing e-commerce content that drives sales and enhances brand presence.
- A track record of creating viral content and adapting to platform-specific trends.
- Exceptional storytelling ability, with a keen eye for visual composition and engaging narratives.

- Strong communication skills, ability to ask the right questions to understand the core objectives and audience needs.
- Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a creative team.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.

Growth Opportunities:
- This role will evolve as the company expands. Initially hands-on, the Director of Media will be responsible for building a team, scaling media efforts, and overseeing all creative projects.
- As the company grows, the Director will have the opportunity to take on more leadership responsibilities and directly influence the strategic direction of content and media efforts.
Travel Requirements:
- As a multi-state operator, occasional travel may be required to capture content. Travel may be on short notice depending on campaign requirements.
