SUMMARY:

The Director works collaboratively with key stakeholders (Life Stage Pastors, Directors, Group Leaders, etc.) to lead and provide guidance to support ministry, while living out the SBPC mission and vision. The Director serves as the primary conduit for developing, curating and distributing content (audio, visual, written, tone/tenor) to express and maintain the SPBC brand, both internally and externally. The Director desires to be a living example, while promoting the scriptural value that we are created for community and grow best in groups as we engage together in faith formation, intentional fellowship, congregational care and gifts-based ministry on our campus and/or in the community. The scope of responsibility includes: Strategic Planning, Program Management, Communication, Brand / Financial Management and Team Leadership. The Director maximizes resources to determine the appropriate path for an effective approach for media services and related initiatives, while working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure buy-in.

PRIMARY DUTIES (list order does not signify level of importance):

Strategic Planning

  • Partners with Pastor and key stakeholders to understand the critical caring opportunities, aligned to the SPBC vision/mission; Gathers critical input(s) to support strategy development
  • Delivers an approach, aligned to the SPBC vision and mission, that optimizes resources and enhances the SBPC brand
  • Collaborates with the staff and ministry partners in the planning of annual trainings and retreats.


Program Management

  • Meets regularly with the Life Stage Pastors (LSPs) and other Directors to understand needs, determine programming and evaluate the level of effectiveness delivered by Meda Services, focused on optimizing resources and striving for excellence
Critical Success Factors:
  • Develop and Implement Media Strategy: Create and execute a comprehensive media plan that aligns with the church's mission and goals, including online presence, live streaming, and video production.
  • Manage Live Streaming and Technical Production: Oversee the technical aspects of live streaming church services and events, ensuring high-quality audio and video production.
  • Create Engaging Content: Produce video, graphic, and written content for various platforms, including the church website, social media, and in-person presentations.
  • Maintain and Update Website and Social Media: Manage and update the church's website and social media accounts, ensuring content is current, engaging, and reflective of the church's brand.
  • Train and Supervise Volunteers: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in media production, including camera operators, sound technicians, and graphic designers.
  • Manage Media Equipment and Resources: Maintain and manage all media equipment, including cameras, sound systems, and computers, and oversee the budget for media resources.
  • Coordinate with Ministry Staff: Collaborate with pastors and ministry leaders to ensure media efforts support their programs and events.
  • Oversee Audio/Visual Systems: Maintain and operate the church's audio and visual systems for services, events, and meetings.
  • Analyze Media Performance: Track and analyze media performance metrics, such as website traffic, social media engagement, and live stream viewership, and use data to improve future content and strategies.
  • Ensure Copyright Compliance: Maintain compliance with copyright laws regarding music, video, and other media used in church productions and online content.
  • The Director leverages data (quantitative and qualitative), decision-making, innovation and strategic thinking to deliver on every aspect of ensuring effective, efficient and sustainable solutions to support ministry
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders (LSPs, Directors, Outreach Group Leaders, staff, etc.) to develop and maintain an annual program calendar that is based on approved budgets, synchronized with the master events calendar and included on the church’s event scheduling system
  • Utilizes relevant resources and tools to help the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church optimize new and/or evolving technology to enhance the worship experience. Makes recommendations for new tools or resources, as needed.
  • Manages administrative functions involved in the execution of the media services strategy / operations.


Communication

  • Engages with LSPs and Directors to gain insights regarding the operational plans for their respective areas of responsibility
  • Develops an effective communication plan to share the calendar of opportunities; raise awareness within and across groups to foster greater participation in Media Services’ scope of responsibilities
  • Utilizes and/or updates, where appropriate, the church’s database to compile and coordinate group leader, member, guest and vendor information in concert with other directors.


Brand / Financial Management

  • Determines the criteria for assessing which Media Services programs will be pursued, to ensure effective protection of the SPBC assets and brand
  • Develops and manages annual budget for Media Services, on an aggregate and per program basis
  • Identifies effective resources and tools to enable and support Media Services programs, including cost, engagement / participation and feedback; Makes recommendations for new tools or resources, as needed.
  • Partners with key SPBC stakeholders to ensure resources are being maximized and effective stewardship exists


Team Leadership

  • Engages staff and/or volunteers to showcase their gifts, passions and talents to aid in the implementation of growth and development opportunities; Partners with and develops core team of staff, ministers, deacons and other ministry partners to equip, educate and encourage the development of small groups as the primary means of organizing people to deliver on outreach opportunities.
  • Fosters leader development in partnership with other directors by offering regular feedback, providing appropriate recognition, celebrating group success, affirming ministry partners (internal and external), evaluating and offering recommendations to improve the effectiveness of our current systems, and offering prayerful next step recommendations in the development of our small group culture.
  • Provides on-going support, coaching, vision, and direction to group leaders through monthly meetings and one-on-one meetings as needed.
  • Collaborates with the staff and ministry partners in planning of annual trainings and retreats.
  • Attends regional and national training events to continuously develop as a leader and offer Best Practices to drive improvements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of training and/or experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience leading a Media Team to perform with excellence
  • Willingness to learn SPBC church polity as it pertains to church membership, leadership, and service
  • Experience, passion, sense of call and relevant spiritual gifts will transcend education
  • Familiarity with equipment, technology, tools and approaches for delivering world class Media Services
