Director of Membership

The Clearwater Yacht Club is excited to announce the opportunity of Membership Director. The most qualified individual selected for this role will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to both current members and all prospective members of the Club. The private, member-owned club with a rich history of yachting, comradery, boating, and community engagement that began in 1911 on Clearwater Beach located on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Clearwater Yacht Club offers an elegant, yet relaxed lifestyle with an impressive array of amenities and activities. This includes many different member spaces for events and social clubs, a swimming pool, outdoor dining and socializing as well future plans for expediential growth.

The Membership Director at Clearwater Yacht Club is truly the “Face of the Club” and creates first impressions of how the club operates and treats the members past, present, and future on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

· New Member acquisition.

· Develop and execute membership growth strategies, including prospecting, lead generation, and conversion initiatives.

· Conduct Club tours and presentations to prospective members, showcasing the club’s amenities, culture, and value.

· Maintain a pipeline of qualified membership prospects and track progress using CRM or similar systems.

· Collaborate with marketing staff or agencies to create campaigns and materials that promote membership.

Member Retention and Engagement

· Serve as the primary point of contact for current members regarding membership status, benefits, and inquiries.

· Monitor member satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and regular personal outreach.

· Create programs and events that foster member engagement, connection, and loyalty.

· Maintain regular communication with members through newsletters, social media, and personalized outreach.

Administrative & Strategic Duties

· Maintain accurate membership records, billing details, and member profiles.

· Work closely with other departments (events, marina, food & beverage) to ensure a seamless member experience.

· Prepare and deliver regular reports on membership statistics, trends, and performance to club leadership.

· Assist in creating and managing the annual membership budget and marketing plans.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field or equivalent experience.

· 3+ years of experience in sales, hospitality, or club membership management, preferably in a private club, marina, or hospitality setting.

· Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.

· Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.

· Knowledge of boating, yachting, or coastal lifestyle, a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

· Competitive performance-based salary and a commission structure with earning potential of $100,000+ a year.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
