Director of Nursing

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a culture of excellence in resident care. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to manage and mentor nursing staff effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing department, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (CMS, state, and local guidelines).
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain quality care standards.
• Monitor resident care plans and ensure individualized, person-centered care.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to optimize resident outcomes.
• Oversee infection control, medication administration, and risk management programs.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and staffing schedules.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and staff development programs.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of California (required).
• Minimum of 1–5 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and clinical best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive team environment.
