Director of Nursing

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team with passion, precision, and a commitment to excellence. Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership for nursing services, fostering a positive and motivated work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical needs and regulatory standards
  • Supervise nurse management staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and supporting ongoing education in areas such as assisted living, hospice care, home health, and acute care
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA privacy rules, Medicare guidelines, and state licensing requirements
  • Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to policies using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Lead efforts in shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels that support quality resident care while optimizing operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care activities and facilitate communication across departments
  • Monitor quality assurance metrics related to MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, documentation review, and care plan updates to improve resident outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of physiology and anatomy to guide clinical decision-making and staff training in medical terminology and nursing best practices

Skills

  • Extensive experience in nursing administration within assisted living facilities or nursing homes with supervisory responsibilities
  • Proven ability to manage nurse management teams effectively while fostering leadership among staff members
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, Medicare policies, medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to diverse healthcare settings
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and EHR systems for documentation review, medical records management, and compliance tracking
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on shift management, staff supervision, and team development
  • Deep understanding of resident’s rights and the importance of compassionate care delivery in hospice care, home health, or acute care environments
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with residents’ families, healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
