Position Overview

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of the nursing department. This role ensures the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development while fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing services
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • Monitor quality assurance and performance improvement programs
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff and department managers
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and budgetary considerations
  • Promote a culture of compassion, accountability, and excellence

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of leadership experience in long-term care
  • Strong knowledge of LTC regulations and survey processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build and retain high-performing teams
