Position Details

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the clinical operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility and ensure the highest standard of resident-centered care within our Household Model. The DON oversees all nursing services, departmental budgeting, regulatory compliance, and staff leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all nursing operations, ensuring quality, safety, and resident-directed care.

  • Foster a collaborative, home-like environment focused on resident autonomy and well-being.

  • Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; maintain staffing levels and oversee schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations; maintain survey readiness.

  • Direct care planning, RAI/MDS oversight, discharge/transfer planning, and coordination of internal/external services.

  • Promote strong communication among staff, residents, and families; model effective teamwork and problem-solving.

  • Maintain policies, procedures, quality improvement systems, and documentation standards.

  • Respond to incidents, complaints, and vulnerable adult issues; protect resident rights.

  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration and support organizational mission, values, and professionalism

What You Offer

  • Current RN license in Minnesota (required).

  • BSN or higher preferred.

  • 3–5+ years of long-term care nursing leadership experience.

  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to flexible hours, and work under pressure.

  • Self-directed with proven ability to develop teams and improve clinical systems.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, salaried (exempt)

  • Primarily Monday-Friday with occasional after-hours responsibilities as needed based on resident and staff needs
