Summary
Delta Star Inc. is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Operations Excellence to transform operational strategy into execution across our manufacturing network. This role plays a critical part in strengthening our production capabilities through standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
As the Director of Operations Excellence, you’ll turn vision into action by aligning plant-level execution with corporate goals. You’ll build a unified operational foundation, enhance manufacturing capacity, and lead continuous improvement across four plants. Your leadership will ensure that every Delta Star facility operates with consistency, precision, and excellence, driving results that make a measurable impact on our customers and our business.
A Day in the Life
You’ll start your day reviewing key performance indicators and progress reports across multiple plants, identifying bottlenecks, and aligning resources to meet production targets. From there, you’ll partner with Plant Managers to implement standardized work instructions, oversee CAPEX project execution, and support teams through problem-solving and efficiency initiatives.
Whether you’re leading a Lean Kaizen event, mentoring engineers, or reporting to Corporate Operations, your focus will remain clear: driving consistency, predictability, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations.
Specific Duties
- Translate corporate operations strategy into actionable plant-level plans and measurable objectives.
- Partner with Plant and General Managers to develop and execute multi-year CAPEX and efficiency roadmaps.
- Lead the unification of manufacturing work instructions and training programs to ensure consistency across all plants.
- Analyze cycle times, throughput, and bottlenecks to recommend targeted process improvements and technology investments.
- Advise on technical specifications and CAPEX priorities to support facility growth and modernization.
- Mentor Industrial Engineers to strengthen technical expertise and execution excellence.
- Lead cross-plant continuous improvement initiatives, introducing Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and unified operational standards across all manufacturing sites.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on leader who combines deep operational expertise with the ability to drive cultural and process transformation. The ideal candidate is both analytical and people-focused, capable of influencing without direct authority and delivering measurable results across multiple locations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience, including leadership in industrial or transformer production environments.
- Proven success driving efficiency, reducing cycle times, and expanding plant capacity.
- Experience leading multi-site operational or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Expertise in CAPEX planning, production equipment specification, and implementation.
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, data analytics, and decision-making tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.

- Strong technical understanding of transformer manufacturing processes.

- Ability to influence cross-functionally and lead without direct authority.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.

- Continuous Improvement or Lean/Six Sigma certification an asset.
- Bilingual in English and French or Spanish considered an asset.
