SUMMARY:
The Director of Training and Organizational Development leads the design, development, and delivery of training and workforce development programs across the Company in a high-volume pork processing environment. This role is deeply integrated with plant operations and requires an individual who is willing and able to work regularly on the production floor, partnering directly with operational leaders to build training that drives measurable results in yield, retention, throughput, and safety. The Director must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, tracking, computer, and internal partnership skills, along with prior experience developing and delivering training content. The incumbent must be capable of working proactively, demonstrate initiative, and be comfortable operating at the pace and conditions of an active processing facility.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in training and development, organizational development, business, operations management, or related discipline; 8 or more years of progressive experience in training and organizational development; 3 to 5 years of leadership experience, including cross-functional or indirect leadership, or a combination of education and experience. Experience designing and implementing training programs that drive measurable operational results. Experience in a manufacturing, food production, or industrial environment strongly preferred. Experience with Learning Management Systems required; experience with UKG, ADP, Absorb LMS, or comparable enterprise platforms, or similar platforms, strongly preferred. Experience with grant writing and submissions preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
Strong development and platform skills. Knowledge of leadership theories and techniques for guiding, motivating, and directing individuals under various situational conditions to achieve effective performance. Must have the drive, motivation, and skill to work toward building a high-performing training and development organization. Strong expertise with software applications and templates supporting training. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and standard office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.). Skilled in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Microsoft Exchange.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS:
CPLP (or ATD CPTD) credential preferred. Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement credential preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess the skill set to communicate effectively with others within and outside the Company. Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language, such as general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, are strongly preferred given the multilingual workforce served by this role.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computers and all standard programs the industry uses and to learn and effectively use any other programs that are or will be made available. Ability to work collaboratively with employees and management cross-functionally. Ability to deliver outstanding customer service and demonstrate professionalism while maintaining composure in stressful situations. Must be able to meet deadlines and possess good organizational skills. Strong presentation skills. Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives. Proven effective management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands here are representative of those an employee should possess to perform the essential functions of the job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Manufacturing floor and corporate office. The physical demands are lifting 20 pounds for needed training materials, sitting and standing for long periods, standing while speaking and presenting, speaking on the phone, and using fingers for writing and typing. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend, and reach.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role operates in both a corporate office and an active pork processing facility. The Director is expected to be present on the production floor regularly and will routinely move through the entire facility, including areas with climate extremes, raw product, and the noise and pace of an operating plant. Willingness to work in these conditions is an essential function of the role. Use of required personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, is expected when on the production floor.
