Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services/DPCS to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care. Responsibilities
- Lead the nursing department, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans for patients, ensuring they meet clinical standards and patient needs.
- Provide mentorship and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care quality across home health care settings.
- Oversee documentation review processes within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to ensure accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality of medical records.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of care delivery.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate coding for Medicare reimbursement.
- Stay current with industry best practices related to physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care procedures to enhance clinical protocols.
- Facilitate ongoing training programs for nursing staff on topics such as nurse management, medical records documentation review, and new healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CA RN License.
- Minimum 2 years experience in home health/hospice or DON setting.
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar healthcare environments with a strong background in nursing administration.
- Extensive knowledge of patients care plans, and Medicare requirements.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with a focus on nurse management and home health care.
- Familiarity with EMR systems used for medical records management and documentation review.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments related to home health care services.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance across all levels of operation.
