Availability: The regular schedule of this position is approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with schedule flexibility and a mix of in-office and work-from-home hours. Occasionally work hours will be affected by special events or department needs, and therefore include some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

General Position Summary:

The Director of PeopleCulture serves to support the organization through human resource functions, strategic problem solving, and proactive support for Brother Wolf employees in alignment with organizational goals and strategies. The Director of PeopleCulture works collaboratively at all levels of the organization to build a thriving workplace culture and achieve excellence in a variety of human resource functions.

Essential Function/Major Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Systems Coordination
    • Onboarding and offboarding of employees
    • Employee insurance benefit management and reconciliation, including onboarding of new benefit providers
    • Payroll processing
    • Employee training documentation, retraining and review scheduling
    • Unemployment and workers compensation claims and audit
    • Management of Google email employee accounts
    • Oversees HR Payroll management software and serve as liaison for employees in regards to training and use of this software
    • OSHA 300 forms and annual posting
    • Oversees job postings and hiring processes for employees and independent contractors
    • Coordination of employee health testing related to rabies vaccinations etc
    • Proper management of electronic and paper files
    • Keeps employee handbook and written organizational policies up-to-date
  • Provide HR support and guidance to staff at all levels of the organization including strategic problem solving, management consultation, six month check-ins with employees, and providing coaching resources internally or externally as needed.
  • Develop strategies to ensure that HR initiatives and programs (recruitment, onboarding, team building, recognition, training, etc) reinforce the organization's culture and values.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; enforce company policy, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulations, and best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Distribution of HR updates and other HR-related organizational communications, to all staff members.
  • Plan and coordinate staff events that build camaraderie, celebrate milestones, and create opportunities for team connection and learning in collaboration with supervisors
  • Filing and record keeping of Brother Wolf documents associated with HR and administrative duties, including enforcing the document retention policy and procedure by keeping and purging documents annually in accordance with the policies.
  • Train new employees on HR Payroll software and continually training managers on use of HR Payroll software as needed/relevant.
  • Oversee fleet management.
  • Manage company Google Shared Drive.
  • Health and Safety Committee oversight and record keeping.
  • General admin tasks to support director-level staff members and organizational needs.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of HR leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of laws related to workers comp, ADA, unemployment, OSHA recording etc. preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and time management skills are essential.
  • Record keeping, data entry and data management experience.
  • Strong computer skills and skill set in Microsoft Excel including production of reports.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Ability and initiative, working with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Ability to remain calm and de-escalate difficult situations as necessary.
  • Maturity, discretion, excellent judgment, and professionalism.
  • Genuine affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to walk and or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday required. Ability to bend and squat.
  • Allergic conditions, which may be aggravated when handling or working with animals, may be a disqualification.

Working conditions:

Conditions may include working alone, working inside, frequent interruptions, and some evenings/weekends meetings and classes.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in HR, Sociology, Psychology, Business or related degree preferred.
