Job Title: Director of Performance Marketing & Growth
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
The Mandate: Strategic Vision + Hands-On Execution
About the Role: We are a premier Boston-based law firm with a strong market presence and a talented team in place (Events, Community, Digital).
Player-Coach — a leader who can define the high-level strategy AND roll up their sleeves to build the infrastructure that powers it.
We don't need a "coordinator." We need a Doer. You will serve as the strategic glue for our department, partnering with our existing Marketing Director, Director of Business Development, Senior Digital Strategist, Social Media Manager, and Firm Ambassador acting as the Technical & Creative Architect who turns our marketing operations into a predictable, data-driven revenue driver.
Core Responsibilities (The "Execution" List)
1. HubSpot Architecture & Automation (You Build This)
- Hands-On Implementation: You will architect and build our HubSpot workflows, lead scoring models, and nurturing sequences utilizing the team and resources around you to ensure that all necessary functionality is met.
- The "Engine" Builder: You are responsible for ensuring every lead—whether from a handshake at an event or a click on Google—is captured, tracked, and nurtured automatically and effectively.
2. Active Digital Optimization (Co-Pilot the Ad Spend)
- Audit & Execute: We have a Senior Digital Strategist managing day-to-day PPC/LSA. Your job is to be the active co-pilot and auditor. You will dive into the ad accounts yourself to identify wasted spend, spot negative keyword opportunities, and implement advanced bidding strategies to help the team move performance from "good" to "elite."
- Data Integrity: You will set up the attribution models (CallRail, CRM integration) to ensure we have a "Single Source of Truth." You must be able to prove exactly which dollar generated which signed case.
3. Creative Direction & Brand Standards (You Define This)
- Write the Briefs: You won't just review agency proposals; you will write the creative strategies. You will drive the concepting for TV, OTT, and Video to ensure our messaging attracts high-value clients (TBI, Catastrophic), not just volume.
- Elevate the Content: You will set the editorial standard for our social media and web content. You will provide direct, constructive feedback to our social team to transition our brand voice from "casual" to "authoritative market leader." and ensure brand voice consistency across all platforms.
4. Vendor Management
- Hold the Line: You are the primary strategic contact for external creative and web agencies. You will audit their work for quality and ROI. If a vendor isn't performing, you fix the strategy or find a replacement.
Qualifications (The "Doer" Checklist)
- HubSpot Expert: You have deep, hands-on experience building complex automation in HubSpot. You don't ask an agency to build the workflow; you build it.
- Data Fluency: You can log into Google Ads or GA4 and extract insights without needing a report prepared for you.
- High-Stakes Experience: Proven success in "High-Consideration" industries (Legal, B2B SaaS, Financial Services). You understand that selling trust requires a different approach than high-volume e-commerce.
- Creative Chops: You have experience writing compelling headlines, ad copy, or creative briefs. You understand the intersection of "Brand" and "Performance."
- Collaborative Leadership & EQ: You have the emotional intelligence to mentor and elevate existing team members while maintaining high standards for output. You know how to lead through influence, not just command.
