Director of Philanthropy and Communication

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Philanthropy and Communication to lead our fundraising initiatives and enhance our organization's visibility. This role is crucial in developing and implementing strategies that foster relationships with donors, manage communication efforts, and drive philanthropic support for our mission. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of nonprofit management, and a commitment to advancing our cause through effective communication and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
• Oversee all aspects of event planning, including logistics, budgeting, and execution to ensure successful fundraising events.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners to enhance engagement and support.
• Manage digital marketing efforts, including social media management, email marketing campaigns (using platforms like Constant Contact, and website content updates.
• Conduct data collection and analysis to inform strategic planning and improve fundraising efforts.
• Write compelling proposals for grants and donations while managing the grant proposal writing process.
• Utilize CRM software (Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) to track donor interactions, manage databases, and report on fundraising progress.
• Lead public relations initiatives to promote the organization’s mission through various channels.
• Oversee volunteer management programs to engage community members in supporting our initiatives.
• Stay informed about estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law to provide guidance on planned giving opportunities.

Skills

• Proven experience in fundraising within a nonprofit environment.
• Strong event planning skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation skills for securing donations and partnerships.
• Proficiency in data collection methods for effective research and reporting.
• Exceptional relationship management abilities to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Knowledge of public relations strategies to enhance organizational visibility.
• Familiarity with budgeting processes related to fundraising events and campaigns.
• Experience with digital marketing tools for outreach efforts.
• Strong writing skills for proposal writing and communication materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
