Job Overview
The Director of Procurement will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of all finished goods and raw materials needed for both development (equipment) and B2B wholesale platforms. This role requires a strong focus on optimizing cost efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining high quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, planning, logistics, fulfillment and finance, and develop strategies for supply chain and procurement. This position is based out of our main office in Irvine, CA and is required to be on-site Mon-Thur.
Key Responsibilities

Purchasing: Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process for wholesale (B2B), development (equipment) and internal manufacturing spend

Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring best practices in vendor management, negotiations, and contract agreements.

Supplier Assessment: Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery time, and service capabilities.

Acquisition: Collaborate with business planning on product acquisition, ensuring optimal inventory levels for both raw materials and finished products are maintained.

Capacity Planning: Collaborate with vendors on capacity planning, ensuring critical capacity is reserved, generate risk mitigation plans (in collaboration with planning) to ensure on time delivery.

Master Data: Own SKU level master data for lead time, minimum order quantity (MOQ) and cost. Ensure internal records are maintained and up to date.

Negotiate: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality.

Performance Management: Monitor supplier performance, via weekly updates, WIP reporting, and conduct regular on time performance reviews with vendors.

Lead Time Reduction: Lead initiatives to reduce lead time, MOQ and cost, while ensuring uninterrupted flow of production.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing and supplier management.

KPIs: Manage and report on departmental KPIs, including cost, vendor acceptance, vendor adherence (OTP), lead time and MOQ.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) preferred.

7+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a wholesale (B2B) or manufacturing environment.

Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing cost-effective deals with suppliers.

Supervising experience required, managing, mentoring and leading a team of procurement professionals.

Knowledge of vertical manufacturing processes and material sourcing for production.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience with Coupa, NetSuite and BigCommerce or equivalent systems.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with supplier performance management and contract negotiation.
