POSITION DETAILS: The Director of Product Management serves as a strategic leader responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering the technology product roadmap across PHS's business application and data intelligence portfolio. This role leads a cross-functional team of Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Business Intelligence Analysts, acting as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and technology delivery. The Director partners with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to translate organizational strategy into scalable, data-driven product solutions that support growth, operational efficiency, and exceptional patient care.
Job Duties
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Defines and owns the product roadmap across business applications and BI/analytics platforms, aligning priorities with organizational goals and clinical outcomes.
- Evaluates emerging technologies, market trends, and healthcare industry developments to identify opportunities that advance PHS's competitive position.
- Leads product discovery, business case development, and investment recommendations for new capabilities or platform changes.
- Serves as a key decision-maker for product prioritization, balancing competing stakeholder demands against strategic impact, effort, and risk.
Business Applications Ownership
- Provides product ownership and strategic direction for core EHR and business platforms, including Brightree, Kantime, and Caretend.
- Partners with clinical operations, revenue cycle, and compliance teams to optimize platform configuration, workflows, and integrations.
- Oversees vendor relationships for key application partners, including contract performance, roadmap alignment, and escalation management.
- Leads release planning and change management for application updates, ensuring effective communication to end users and business stakeholders.
Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Owns the BI and analytics product strategy, leveraging Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric as the organization's core reporting and data platforms.
- Guides the BI team in developing executive dashboards, operational reports, and self-service analytics capabilities that drive data-informed decision-making.
- Champions a data governance culture, working with IT and business leaders to ensure data quality, definitions, and access standards are maintained across the enterprise.
- Identifies opportunities to expand analytics maturity, including predictive modeling and automated insights that support clinical and operational performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Leads, mentors, and develops a team of Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Business Intelligence Analysts, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Establishes clear roles, responsibilities, and career development paths within the product organization.
- Sets measurable performance objectives aligned with organizational goals and provides regular, structured feedback and coaching to all direct reports.
- Builds team capacity through thoughtful hiring, onboarding, and ongoing skills development.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Builds trusted partnerships with business leaders across clinical operations, finance, revenue cycle, compliance, and executive leadership.
- Facilitates product steering discussions, ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned on roadmap priorities, timelines, and trade-offs.
- Oversees SLA adherence for application support and enhancements, guiding incident resolution and problem management in partnership with IT operations.
- Ensures all products and processes comply with applicable healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and relevant industry standards.
Planning & Operations
- Actively participates in annual IT planning cycles, contributing roadmap inputs, resource plans, and budget recommendations.
- Provides oversight for the product team's budget, including software licensing, vendor services, and headcount planning.
- Develops and maintains standardized product management practices, including intake, prioritization frameworks, and delivery metrics.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Business Intelligence Analysts. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in product management, business analysis, or IT leadership roles.
- 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience in healthcare IT strongly preferred; familiarity with home health, hospice, or pediatric care settings is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with EHR platforms (Brightree, Kantime, or Caretend experience highly desirable).
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent enterprise BI platforms.

- Strong product thinking: ability to balance user needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform prioritization and measure product outcomes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern product delivery practices.
- Working knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HL7/FHIR) preferred.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner, or equivalent product management certification
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Microsoft Power BI or Fabric certifications a plus

SALARY RANGE:
At PHS, we are committed to providing specialized care for medically complex children. Every role, from direct patient care to customer support, plays a vital part in improving the lives of kids and families. The impact you make is invaluable. We are dedicated to offering fair and transparent compensation to our team members. The starting rate for this role is $130,894 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
