As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a Director of Production to help lead and refine our production operations.
Director of Production Position Overview
The Director of Production is responsible for overseeing all roofing production activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to Colony Roofers’ quality standards. This role will focus on managing teams, improving processes, and building scalable production systems as the company grows.
This position is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience running roofing production who is ready to step into a leadership role with broader operational impact.
Key Responsibilities of Director of Production
- Oversee daily roofing production operations across multiple projects
- Lead, manage, and support production managers, crews, and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and to quality standards
- Develop and improve production workflows, systems, and best practices
- Coordinate with sales, operations, and office teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
- Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost control
- Enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
- Help recruit, onboard, and train production team members as needed
Qualifications of Director of Production
- Background in roofing production or construction production management
- Experience overseeing multiple roofing projects or crews simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills
- Understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation processes
- Ability to create structure while remaining flexible in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable working both in the field and in an office setting
