Definition of Position:
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for the planning, development and overall management of Residential Services under the direction of the President & CEO.
General Responsibilities:
· Interviews, makes hiring recommendations, supervises, evaluates, coaches and disciplines for Residential Managers, Residential Program Manager, and Manager of Clinical Training and Development.
· Supports the Residential Managers in the interviewing and hiring process for Residential Direct Support Professional Staff.
· Supports the Residential Managers in staff orientation, supervision, evaluation, discipline, etc.
· Trains, coaches and develops Residential Managers and Residential Program Manager.
· Ensures that key tasks and procedures are completed in a timely and accurate fashion
· Understands and follows the terms outlined in the Union Contract and Staff Handbook
· Implements and develops systems to ensure that all program services meet state-of-the-art standards of quality, as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations, and accreditation standards.
· Acts as the in-house expert for DDS regulations as they apply to residential services
· Works in partnership with the Director of Residential Quality Assurance to develop and implement systems to ensure quality within all residential programs.
· Focuses on developing a synergistic working relationship with other departments.
· Supports programs by making regular/frequent on-site visits.
· Oversees the growth and development of residential services in response to the needs of each individual served.
· Makes decisions, in collaboration with the team, on the residential placements and/or residential changes of individuals served.
· Develops and carries out systems to assist in preparation for all external inspections and audits.
· Assists the Finance Supervisor and Residential Managers with resident funding issues (i.e. assistance regarding the accurate completion of Social Security and DSS applications, monitoring assets and ensuring limits are not exceeded, tracking and troubleshooting potential funding irregularities, etc.).
· In partnership with the Director of Residential Quality Assurance, coordinates the preparation for and the oversight of external audits
· Is responsible for the development of needed plans of correction.
· Develops and implements organizational effectiveness strategies addressing issues of retention, staff development, efficiency and effectiveness.
· Communicates to the President & CEO with regard to program status, emergencies and any other relevant information on a timely basis.
· Is responsible for the development and implementation of agency policies and procedures as they apply to Residential Services.
· Serves as back-up to the Residential Mangers and Residential Program Manager in the event of a vacancy or while managers are out of the office.
· Coordinates maintenance repairs with the Maintenance Specialist.
· Ensures proper completion of attendance in the DDS attendance system.
· Signs off on incident reports. Ensures reports are sent to DDS in a timely manner as required.
· Attends IP, Ad Hoc, Intake, Transition and other meetings for individual planning, as necessary.
· Ensures that all paperwork and recommendations associated with the IP process are completed in a timely fashion
· Coordinates and oversees DDS audits
· Ensures all residential staff are compliant with all ARI and DDS Required Trainings
· Attends, chairs and/or actively participates in scheduled residential management and department meetings as necessary.
· Develops and implements goals and objectives of department in conjunction with the Manager of Clinical Training and Development.
· Develops goals, objectives, standards and expectations for the Residential Service Programs.
· Participates as a member of the Residential Senior Management Team and the rotation schedule for Senior Manager On-Call
· Serves as a member of the ARI Senior Management Team and Management Team.
· Represents ARI of Connecticut, Inc. and serves as a liaison to the Connecticut professional community, and parents/family members of the individuals we serve.
· Serves as a trainer for a required training (Topic TBD based on interest and agency need) and/or as a trained investigator of AID directed investigations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
