Director of Respiratory Therapy

Position Summary
Arris Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Respiratory Therapy to lead our respiratory program in Provo, Utah. This role is responsible for the leadership, management, and daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy department, ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

The Director will oversee clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and program growth, helping drive outstanding outcomes in a rehabilitative and long-term care setting. The position Director of Respiratory Therapy also includes all Duties and Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist.
Location: Provo
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year depending on experience.
Shift: Weekdays 8AM - 5PM, with evenings and weekends as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Department Operations
  • Lead the overall direction and success of the Respiratory Therapy department
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient, patient-centered care delivery
  • Establish and track monthly department goals aligned with facility objectives
  • With clinician input will coordinate staffing schedules, sub-acute admissions, and manage caseload distribution
Clinical Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure delivery of evidence-based, clinically appropriate respiratory care
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations
  • Oversee accurate and timely documentation and service delivery records
  • Maintain working knowledge of payer requirements, including Medicare PPS
Team Development & Supervision
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and retain high-quality respiratory therapy staff
  • Conduct orientation, ongoing training, and competency assessments
  • Ensure all staff maintain current licensure and certifications
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Program Growth & Performance Improvement
  • Develop and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Monitor outcomes, patient satisfaction, and clinical standards
  • Support business development and marketing strategies for respiratory services
  • Build and strengthen physician relationships and referral networks
Collaboration & Communication
  • Represent respiratory services in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Collaborate with leadership on departmental goals, challenges, and performance
  • Coordinate respiratory-related admissions and care planning
  • Provide education to staff, patients, families, and the community
Financial Oversight
  • Monitor department budget, revenue, and expenses
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization while maintaining quality care

Qualifications
Licensure & Education
  • Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Utah (required)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Experience in rehabilitative or long-term care settings (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Medicare PPS and regulatory requirements (preferred)

Additional Requirements
  • Must meet facility health requirements, including TB screening
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with residents, families, and healthcare partners
